That is the very nature of the pure mind! Just as a tree in water has no heartwood, but the fruit itself is the heartwood, similarly, although the five aggregates are without essence, the nature of great bliss is said to exist in essence. For the time being, acknowledging this much of the provisional meaning is extremely important in the tantric tradition. Those tantrikas who equate the nature of mind, great bliss, with matter are merely speaking superficially, abandoning the root of the meaning and considering the mere prevention of extremes as the most important thing. The ultimate state of emptiness is described in the Guhyasamaja Tantra: "All dharmas are like dreams, unborn by their own nature, from the very purity of their essence, the Vajra of illusion is greatly praised." This means that if one knows that all dharmas are unborn from the beginning, then it is like a vajra that destroys illusion. Someone asked: Where does the mind reside? The answer was: It resides in space. Again, someone asked: Where does space reside? The answer was: It resides nowhere. This means that all dharmas arise from the mind, the mind is of the nature of emptiness, and emptiness is indescribable, residing nowhere. The general statement that "there is no true existence," a fleeting thought in the mind, is not the definitive meaning of emptiness. Furthermore, the Samadhiraja Sutra states: "Eyes, ears, and nose are not valid cognitions, tongue, body, and mind are also not valid cognitions. If these senses were valid, what use would there be for the noble path?" This means that there is no explicit realization of the nature of the six entering consciousnesses. If one could realize the ultimate truth by merely taking a step in a state where the path is not remembered in the realm of conceptual mind, then it would not be necessary to negate that sense and mind consciousness are valid cognitions. Thirdly, in general, the ultimate truth is free from elaboration and transcends all realms of knowledge and expression. Whatever is made an object of sound and conceptual thought is all relative truth. Parama Artha Satya (梵文,parama-artha-satya) means ultimate truth. Parama (梵文,parama) means supreme, Artha (梵文,artha) means meaning, and Satya (梵文,satya) means truth. Therefore, it is the supreme meaning or the ultimate meaning, which is the wisdom of the noble one's equipoise. Because its vision is not deceptive, it is the truth. Regarding its way of seeing, the Bodhicharyavatara states: "When neither things nor non-things remain before the mind,

As it is said: "Their own nature is without other aspects, they are completely pacified without object." Also, as it is said in the Two Truths of the Feet of Dīpaṃkara: "That which is unseen is seen, it is said in the very profound sūtra." As it is said, it is seen only as the pacification of all the objects of elaboration, without any appearance of things being existent or nonexistent. Therefore, here, it is the meaning found by the sight of the wisdom of the noble ones. Nāgārjuna said: "Not known from others, the nature of peace, not elaborated by elaborations, without conceptualization, the meaning is not different." Thus, it is said that it is beyond the realm of sound and conceptualization, peaceful, free from elaboration, without conceptualization, and without difference, possessing the characteristic of having five distinctions. Conventional truth is called Saṃvṛti-satya in Sanskrit. Saṃvṛti means obscuring reality, which is the mind of a child. The appearance of truth in it is the meaning of truth, appearing as truth in the nature of a confused mind. This is established as not truly existing only in the appearance of confusion, but it does not prevent appearance, nor does it accept this appearance of conventional truth as validly established. As it is said: "The actions that arise dependently, I consider them like illusions and dreams." This is also the meaning of that. What meaning is complete that is established by valid cognition in illusions and dreams? Fourth, are the two truths the same or different in essence? Both cannot be expressed, so they are inexpressible. If it is accepted that one or different is established by valid cognition, then there are four faults, as stated in the Sūtra, Essential Explanation of Necessity. If the sutra verses are written, it will become long, so if we condense the essence, if the two truths are one, then since ordinary people see the conventional truth, they should also see the ultimate truth. Just as defilements increase by focusing on the conventional truth, it should also be the same for the ultimate truth. Just as there is no difference between them, it should also be the same for the conventional truth. Just as the conventional truth should not be sought by seeing, hearing, etc., the ultimate truth should also be the same. If the two truths are established as different entities, then even if emptiness is realized, it will not be included in the conventional truth, so a separate object must be established. Even if the ultimate truth is meditated upon, the aggregates will not be overcome, so there will be no liberation from the bonds of bad rebirths, so there should be no nirvāṇa. Like a vase and a cloth, they should become different entities.
