Suffering from being separated from a pleasant object, there are three types: large, medium, and small. Tranquility is like being stunned and sitting there as if exhausted, which is non-mindfulness. Discrimination is the consciousness that clings to characteristics. Fear is being afraid. Desire is attachment to pleasant objects in the three times (past, present, and future), and there are three types: large, medium, and small. Grasping is the mind that causes one to enter the realm of desire. Non-virtue is regret. Hunger and thirst are understood as such, and they cause discomfort in body and mind. Feeling is the feeling of pleasure, pain, and indifference, and there are three types: large, medium, and small. The knower, the agent of knowing, and the basis of what is to be known, which is the mind that wrongly grasps the objects of knowledge, the meaning of wrong view is also the manifestation of perceiving what is true as real. Individual discrimination is judging what is reasonable and unreasonable. Knowing shame is knowing that one will have negative consequences such as suffering, and thus avoiding what should not be done. Compassion is the desire to be free from suffering. The three loves are: for the object one likes, the desire to meet and obtain its loveliness; and the desire to protect it from harm, these three. Doubt is connected with hesitation and has an unstable state. Accumulation is stinginess, unwillingness to give. Jealousy is being disturbed by the perfections of others. The forty natures of increase are: attachment and clinging and also joy, intermediate joy and very joy, satisfaction and very satisfaction, wonder and also gaiety, contentment and also embrace, kissing and also sucking, steadfastness and diligence and pride, doing and plundering and strength, joy and co-arising, and non-co-arising, very co-arising and intense, coquetry and jealousy, virtue and clear and true speech, untruth and certainty, not approaching the giver, encouragement and also bravery, shamelessness and deceit and malice, insubordination and hypocrisy. Whatever the forty characteristics are, they are moments of utter emptiness. As it is said, attachment is attachment to the object to be obtained. Clinging is attachment to the object that has already been obtained. Pleasantness is the joy that arises from the mere appearance of a pleasant object, and there are three types: large, medium, and small.
