The ultimate Bodhicitta, the manifestation of wisdom, is initially emptiness. Thus it appears, and in its increase, others are mostly similar, being the nature free from grasping and being grasped. Like the sun's rays pervading, it is an extremely clear and stainless essence. At the time of attainment, it pervades as the darkness of death, subtle and selfless, life and effort do not function, without mind, unmoving. Thus it is taught. Among these, the absence of grasping and being grasped is the cessation of gross dualistic appearances. It is also called the nature of no appearance. Like the autumn sky cleared of haze, pervaded by moonlight, the white light is faint, the luminosity is weak, and emptiness is vast. The absence of body and speech is the cessation of the appearance of ordinary body and speech. The aspect of self-luminous nature is the manifestation of the mind's luminous nature in various ways. Focusing on all phenomena is pervasiveness. Extremely clear is even clearer than before. Like the sun's rays pervading, the red light is faint, and the luminosity is vast. The ultimate Bodhicitta is the subsequent one, the wisdom of indivisible bliss and emptiness. Pervading like the darkness of death is faint black light, and all manifestations of conceptual thoughts cease. Subtle means difficult to realize. Selflessness means there is no self-nature to grasp. Life and effort do not function, meaning the air enters the central channel, without mind, without the movement of conceptual thoughts. All three appearances are present, but this one is predominant, so it is taught here. The essence of these is that in non-conceptuality, the inexpressible aspect of emptiness is clearly seen, and in the melting bliss of equipoise, dualistic appearances cease. Thus, apply this to everything, the wisdom that distinguishes the appearances of white light, etc., and the differences between clarity and obscurity. It is also said that in the interval near attainment, one becomes unconscious. Depending on the degree of air absorption, the extent of clear appearance, the thickness of non-conceptuality, and the duration, various situations arise. Here, the way signs appear is that in the Compendium of Trainings, at the time of manifest enlightenment, it is first said to be like a mirage, then like the sun, moon, darkness, dawn, etc. Therefore, many lamas also make distinctions between five signs and four sign-bearers, but the intention is that the five signs are understood as mirages.

That is how it is done. First, when the twenty-five coarse elements gradually dissolve, twenty-five signs will also appear, but the main ones are five signs such as mirages. After that, four such as moonlight white brightness will appear when three or four appearances occur. This is mainly based on the wisdom gained from practicing the path. Second, the three appearances at the base stage are: Generally speaking, if the consciousness with the characteristics of the three appearances is divided into the three appearances at the base stage, they are the three appearances during sleep, the three appearances during waking, the three appearances during sexual intercourse, and the three appearances during death. The first and third are roughly the same, and the fourth is the same as the path stage except for the difference between whether or not it is recognized and whether or not the path has been attained. The second is that consciousness only appears as an external object, and in particular, what is seen becomes clear is increase, and finally it is obtained by the natural cessation of the mind from the external object. Those who think like this are the great translator Marpa Lotsawa and his followers, which seems very important. Second, explaining the nature, that is, the eighty kinds of nature, and it is pointed out as the root of the cycle of reincarnation and extinction. The first is: The thirty-three kinds of nature of appearance, from the Guhyasamaja Five Stages: Its nature is bright and illuminating, Now I will explain them well, Detachment from desire, middle and great desire, Likewise, mind-going and returning, Sorrow and the like are also like this, Tranquility, discrimination and fear, Fear, middle and extreme fear, Greed, greed, middle and greed, Extreme greed, near-taking, non-virtuous karma, Hunger and thirst, feeling and middle feeling, The moment of extreme feeling, The knower and the basis of lineage, Separate thoughts and knowing shame, Compassion and the three kinds of love, Doubt and accumulation, Jealousy is called the nature to be known, The thirty-three natures, The self-awareness of sentient beings. As it is said. Detachment from desire is not accepting the object, the essence is hatred, and it is divided into three types according to size. That is, what is not clear in the way of clinging is small, what appears clearly but cannot initiate action is medium, and what can promote action is large. The following situations are also explained in a similar way. Mind-going and returning are thinking about the external object and thinking back inward, which are separated from the mind. Sorrow is...
