In the east is Auspicious Heruka and Extremely Heroic Mother, in the north is Lotus Dance自在 and Powerful Mother, in the west is Vairochana and Wheel-Turning Mother, in the south is Vajrasattva and Great Perseverance Mother, that is, the heroes are green in color, holding various vajras and bells marked with them, the consorts are blue-green, holding various vajras and skull-blood. The main six Bhagavad-s are in vajra posture. The six consorts embrace the fathers in lotus posture. The left hand embraces the father. The right hand holds the vajra threatening mudra and raises the hand gestures. The twenty-four heroes all stand with their right legs extended, and the heroes embrace with their left legs extended. In the east gate of the outer mandala is the crow-faced mother, blue, holding an iron hook in her right hand. In the north gate is the owl-faced mother, green, holding a rope in her right hand. In the west gate is the dog-faced mother, red, holding an iron chain in her right hand. In the south gate is the pig-faced mother, yellow, holding a bell in her right hand. In the southeast is Yama Stable Mother, right blue and left yellow, holding a mirror in her right hand. In the southwest is Yama Messenger Mother, right yellow and left red. Holding a lute in her right hand. In the northwest is Yama Fang Mother, right red and left green, holding a conch shell of fragrant water. In the northeast is Yama Destroyer Mother, right green and left blue, holding a vessel filled with six tastes in her right hand. Thus, the eight gate guardians are all in fierce form. All twelve mothers hold skulls in their left hands and khatvangas in their left elbows, standing on corpse seats with their right legs extended. All the fathers have piled-up hair, with various vajras, half-moons, six seals, and garlands of heads. Wearing tiger skin loincloths, they are united with their consorts with the mudra of liberation. All the goddesses have loose hair and are adorned with five seals. All have one face, two arms, and three eyes, and dwell in the midst of blazing flames.
