By accomplishing the vidyā-mantra of Yamāntaka, he brought all the surrounding lands under his control, becoming a king ruling over a million villages. Having practiced the mantra conduct for twelve years, he became a vidyādhara with a thousand retinues. These are examples: relying on the mantra lineage of Yamāntaka, countless beings attained the vajra body. Thus, the first period was about one or two hundred years. The second period was the accomplishment of various practitioners. Thereafter, for about three hundred years, there was not a single person who entered the mandala of Yamāntaka who did not achieve their aim. Although many attained the siddhi of Mahāmudrā, practices such as raising corpses with swords and consuming elixirs were accomplished in a year. There was no way that even subtle things like pacification could not be accomplished in six months. Many vidyādharas of the underground and above-ground also appeared. Those who had not received the Yamāntaka empowerment could not recite mantras together in the same house. If they did, the body of the one who had not received the empowerment would immediately burn, dry up, or be destroyed. Therefore, the mantra reciters recited alone. At that time, in the south, two sons of merchants named Ara and Sara received the Yamāntaka empowerment from the same guru, and every morning they recited a hundred and eight mantras in front of a painted image. Ara, after about a year, was in the middle of doing business in the shop when he became light in body and happy in mind, abiding in samādhi. Once, he went to a distant place, and to avoid being deceived, he was captured by four cunning robbers. When they bound him with ropes, the ropes broke as soon as he remembered the mantra. The iron shackles he was wearing melted like water. Then, remembering the shop, he arrived at the shop. Seeing a treasure on the road, out of compassion, he called those robbers and gave them whatever they wanted from that treasure. The son Sara, one evening, took a stick and went to herd the livestock. Then, the sound of the mantra and rays of light came from his own body. When he waved the stick, fire blazed. He drove the livestock with it, and fire blazed from the horns of the livestock as well. When he returned home, a sound came from the sky, saying, "The rituals of...
