These three are happiness, but they are not unchanging, but changing. The changing one is the happiness mixed with the five elements, from which the coarse five elements arise. From the aggregation of the elements, the five aggregates arise, and among them, the dharma within beings gathered by their own continuum, the six sense bases arise, and the five or six objects as the mode of enjoyment and utilization. From this, the five consciousnesses named the five wisdoms arise. In general, the nature of reality at the ground level is also the five wisdoms, and by its power, even the adventitious stains abide in the arising of the three root appearances, so the name of the five wisdoms is given in relation to the ground of samsara. But the five wisdoms or five consciousnesses here are part of the twenty-five coarse elements, so they are conceptual thoughts, and they are also the main collection of the eighty natures and so on. For example, steam arises from moist earth, dew forms from it, dew gathers and becomes water, an image appears in the water, and when it is moved by the wind, the image appears to flow and so on. Similarly, the three root appearances are like moist earth, and like steam arising when stimulated by heat, the wind stirs and transforms into the form of the five pleasures. Like dew, they are the coarse five elements. Like water gathering, the nature of the five aggregates is formed. Like many images appearing, they appear as separate sense fields. Like the image moving, the conceptual thoughts of the five consciousnesses arise. Furthermore, when the water seeps into the earth, all the images and so on disappear, like at the time of death or sleep, or at any other time, when the power of the single propellant is exhausted, all of these dissolve into the three root appearances in the manner of leaving imprints. As the Vajramala says: The hard element and the water nature, likewise fire and wind, when taken by consciousness, will be born in the place of the three realms. This is the five aggregates, the nature of the aggregates of the elements, namely form, feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness, these are the five. Equality, individual discernment, and accomplishment, as well as the great mirror wisdom and the wisdom of the dharmadhatu, these are the five consciousnesses.

Therefore, the source of mind is that, eyes and likewise ears, nose, tongue, body, etc., this is the arising of the sources. As it is said, the senses themselves in their own realm, that which goes and becomes is that, whatever sense is used, that is just appearance. As it is said, the senses together with their objects are merely appearances of the mind. As it is said, many here place appearance as the three minds of the path, and mixing and combining it with the appearance of desire pleasures, is a distorted explanation because they want to establish it in the hidden meaning. Although explaining the three appearances, it is good to combine them with the three fundamental appearances, but if you want to combine them with the hidden meaning, then there is no fault in understanding the establishment of the basis and time of the hidden meaning paths. Again, it is said, from this arising there is also nature, attachment and non-attachment, etc., from that arises virtuous and non-virtuous actions, from that arises the arising of rebirth. How to establish the habit after the gross ones dissolve is as explained above, from the three appearances arise the five consciousnesses, etc., and the way the conceptual thoughts of nature arise. By doing virtuous and non-virtuous actions, habits are established on the root mind, and at other times those habits ripen, and the beings of the six realms arise. If you do not understand the establishment of how samsara flows, then even if you only explain the dissolving order and arising order of the eight objects at the time of birth and death, it seems that you will not understand the essence of the meaning. How it appears to the delusion of sentient beings, how they experience it, and the real cause of that experience, from the perspective of how it arises in samsara itself, is accepted in a state of not investigating or analyzing. On the side of the pure conventional, analyzing with reason, as it is said that objects such as form are merely appearances of the mind, all of those are merely appearances of the one mind, from the three fundamental appearances, it is impossible to say that it is the same or different. That also, by the power of the wind of habit, from the cause arises the appearance of afflictions, clearly appearing, and by the dissolution of one's own wind, that clear continuum becomes unclear, and becomes a seed state. Again, when stimulated by the wind that produces the appearance of the fruit, the birth and other fruits
