This arises from the earth. That is to say, the habitual tendencies of craving for pleasure have a potential to make the mind cling to objects, and its manifestations are of three types: the self-awareness of the mind that can produce the appearance of the body is appearance; the self-awareness that can produce the appearance of speech is increasing appearance; and the self-awareness of the mind that can produce various appearances of mind is obtained appearance. All three are merely aspects of conventional self-awareness and inward looking. These three appearances are said in other tantras to be the seeds of the change and leakage of bliss. Although the essence of all three is the nature of the alaya-consciousness, in this context, appearance is the cause of generating mind-consciousness and sense-consciousness, and increasing is the cause of generating afflicted mind, so it is established as such. Obtaining, from the opposite aspect of obtaining, is merely abiding in the nature of the alaya itself and is generated indirectly, but it does not directly generate those seven consciousnesses, so it is established only as the alaya. Therefore, the three appearances are shown as mind, intellect, and consciousness. Such three appearances are without difference in essence, mixed as one, and continue uninterruptedly as long as samsara exists. As it is said in the Vajramala: "Supreme wisdom is the main lord, Lord of moments free from desire, etc., Knower of all in the three realms, This is shown as the root. Beautiful like an upright light, Possessing the power to increase attachment, etc., Increasing appearance is consciousness, Its name is the name of means, Great awareness itself is the root." And "Having the characteristics of the three appearances, In that, the three consciousnesses are heard, The nature of all sentient beings, This is the root. That is the meaning of each appearance, Wind takes and holds it, The consciousness with wind is that, Always moving and abiding. This is the great wind element, It is the vehicle of the three consciousnesses, It always turns by its nature, How it goes and turns." In most translations it says: "E is supreme wisdom," However, for all the other letters, such as "Om is," etc., the letter itself is not mentioned separately in the verses, therefore, those and the aware
