It is not the case that the Vajra recitation that is mainly praised refers only to the close retention. Therefore, if the term Vajra recitation appears, it is assumed to be only the close retention, and then it is argued with great effort that it is the most excellent by other means such as vase breathing, which is to establish proof. This is to have the fault of not understanding the meaning and the fault of being biased, which are the two faults. Secondly, the method of how to practice this meaning with the instruction of the three points of the nose is: Also, for the manifestation that is only in accordance with the reality of Vajra recitation, to actually experience it in a non-conceptual way, it only occurs after the wisdom of speech silence is attained. Before that, it is combined with the experience in the way of faith and meditation. If we classify such things, the first of the three is the practice of the light sphere: The so-called light sphere is the name of the breath that flows in and out, and it is done from the nostrils of the nose, so it is called meditating on the tip of the nose of the face, but it is not necessary to focus the mind inside the tip of the nose. For this, most old Tibetans believe that: recitation is done from the upward-moving air (throat), life-sustaining air (heart), equal-dwelling air (navel), downward-clearing air (secret place), and pervasive air (crown). The new Guhyasamaja and Chakrasamvara schools believe that: no matter which of the ten airs is used for Vajra recitation, it must be done only in the heart chakra, otherwise, it is generally not in accordance with the Guhyasamaja, and especially the Chakrasamvara's view. The old and new schools mostly consider this to be only the Vajra recitation for training the channels. Some Chinese and Tibetan people also combine vase breathing and other breathing exercises here, whether it is appropriate or not, as mentioned above. Our own tradition is that, for example, from each chakra such as the heart or navel, one can do Vajra recitation for all ten airs, or one can do it from each location, because from all the chakras one can generate the wisdom of the four visions, and if one needs to liberate the heart itself, then if one unties a knot like the navel, the heart will also be liberated effortlessly. Therefore, it will only become a support for accomplishing one's wishes, and will never miss the point. However, most of what is now called Vajra recitation is this yoga of arising and ceasing.
