Recollection and Samadhi, etc., are called the six limbs of union. The ten faculties also, in all their respective spheres of activity, because of individually gathering desires, are said to be individual gathering. The five desires, briefly, by uniting as the five Buddhas, are called observation and contemplation. That contemplation then becomes fivefold, namely, investigation, analysis, joy, and also bliss, and one-pointedness of mind; contemplation is gathered into those five. In the secret tantras, at all times, many aspects are fully explained. The arising of the three secrets is investigation, its enjoyment is analysis. The third is the touch of joy, the fourth is gathered by bliss. Know that the fifth is the self-mind where knowledge and the knowable arise and cease. The fourth of all Buddha's realities is that which dwells perfectly in all desires. The breath is the nature of the five wisdoms, the essence of the five elements. Having extracted it in the form of a globule, contemplate it well at the tip of the nose. The five precious colors are said to be life and effort. Having contemplated one's own mantra in the heart, place the life as a drop. It is said that self-mastery is the precious rejection, the grasper and the grasped. The mind becomes the vajra of cessation, the apprehension of signs will arise. The realm of signs is fivefold, as spoken by the Bodhi Vajra. Like a mirage is the first, like smoke is the second. Like a sky appearance is the third, like a burning lamp is the fourth. Like a cloudless sky, the fifth is always appearing. From the path of the steadfast Vajra, one should expand into the realm of space. Whatever recollection one meditates upon, one should expand it like that. It is said to be mindfulness, from which individual appearances arise. By equally entering method and wisdom, all things are briefly gathered, having gathered them in the form of a globule, in the center one should contemplate the form. That which perfects wisdom in an instant is called Samadhi. Thus, it is written as quoted from the Lamp Illuminating, the translation of Gö. These six limbs explained in the later tantra, the system of Kālacakra, is also very much in accordance with the meaning of the words here. However, here it is explained according to the Lamp Illuminating.
