The ritual of that must be performed. The first realization of the clear light stage is also a wisdom that is very much directed towards the ultimate truth, so it is in accordance with the ultimate bodhicitta. As explained in this treatise, during the clear light empowerment above, this ritual is used to bless and stabilize what has already arisen in the mindstream. However, in the Compendium of Practices, it says: Immediately after the secret empowerment, all the instructions and positions of the clear light are explained. In order to make it arise again in the mindstream, doubts are first dispelled, and this bodhicitta is also taken as a preliminary vow for the clear light stage to manifest right now. After that, when the wisdom empowerment and the fourth empowerment are conferred, on top of each experience, the recognition of remembering the previous instructions is made, so it is thought that the clear light stage will arise in the mindstream. Moreover, the Compendium of Practices says: Then, the vajra student realizes the two stages of manifest enlightenment, and the two kinds of samadhi, and after hearing the various names of the ultimate truth, abandons the attachment to manifest realization. With a very joyful face and palms joined, he specifically speaks these words: Emaho, Buddha, O Buddha! How wonderful is the teaching of the Dharma! The true meaning is the supreme meaning! I prostrate to the Bodhicitta! After that, the vajra master looks at the disciple as if he were the second teacher, (and says): Separated from all things, aggregates, elements, and sources, completely abandoning the grasped and the grasper, the Dharma is selfless and equal, one's own mind is originally unborn, it is the nature of emptiness. After reciting these verses, contemplate non-duality, and the empowerment of wisdom and knowledge should be given. It is said that the order in which things appear is different from this treatise, so how can there be a contradiction in meaning? It is not necessary to unify them either, it should be known that this is a type of choice. After that, the offering of gratitude is: After that, in order to be in accordance with the master, offerings should be made that will please the teacher's heart, namely jewels, houses, and vehicles such as elephants and horses, land, bedding, clothes, male servants, female servants, and beloved wives, daughters.

If it can bring great joy, which practitioner would abandon their own body? Not to mention other remaining things, it goes without saying. The second root is to ascertain the ultimate clear light. From the teacher, one obtains the grace of realization, possessing immaculate, steadfast wisdom, being the nature of all things. Pure, extremely subtle, the nature of the supreme ground, is the realm of Buddha's nirvana. The non-dual, free from thought, eternally blissful nature, that itself should be meditated upon by yogis. Liberated from merit and non-merit, oneself will become the Bhagavan Vajrasattva. This means, from the presence of the teacher, one obtains the grace of realizing what was not previously realized. What is realized? What is realized is the absence of the stain of apprehended and apprehender appearances, possessing steadfastness, that is, wisdom that never changes, and that wisdom is the nature of all things, becoming the nature, extremely clear wisdom, afflictions are pure from the beginning, extremely subtle, that is, difficult to realize because it is free from all elaborations, the nature where afflictive thoughts and all suffering are utterly pacified, the perfect Buddha, the ultimate truth, and the realm and space of non-abiding nirvana, that is, the Tathagatagarbha, and one's own essence, the great equality where all dualistic dharmas do not exist and are separated, freedom from the clinging of thoughts, the eternally co-emergent blissful nature. That reality, the ultimate clear light, possessing all eleven of these meaningful aspects, should be meditated upon by yogis. The benefit of meditating on this is: liberation from both merit and non-merit, the cause of heavens and bad migrations in samsara, and in this very life, one will attain the state of Bhagavan Vajrasattva. Therefore, in establishing the characteristics of the ultimate clear light, this section of summarizing the meaning is extremely important. Furthermore, the reason why classifications such as the clear light of sleep do not clearly appear in this five stages text is: "When doing everything else, one abides on the basis of emptiness of all." And "the part of night appearance" etc., all exist within the way the basis of appearance dissolves in reverse order as taught. In the third stage, "that itself transforms into a gandharva being,"
