Where Is. It is thoroughly explained as being like an illusion. Whichever faculty becomes the path, it becomes its essence. By unequal union, unite equally with all Buddhas. Everywhere, always, everything, self-nature is constant, in every way. All Buddhas, self-nature accomplishment, one will see it oneself. Thus, the first verse is taken from the continuation of the previous words, "observe as an illusion." In this Vajrayana path of illusory body, why enumerate each item and explain extensively? Whether in meditative equipoise or post-meditation, whatever the yogi focuses on among the inner and outer consciousnesses such as seeing, hearing, arising sensations, etc., all of that, with these two ways of observing as illusion, observing and meditating as an illusion, when it manifests, is the first sign. Explaining it in a little more detail, appearing like a reflection in a mirror but without self-nature, like a dream, it is the appearance of wind-mind, appearing like a magic trick but not established as an external reality, like a water bubble being water, blessed by bliss, appearing as the nature of bliss itself, like an optical illusion, the coarse appearance transforms from this into something else. The meaning of each example, and universally similar to all of them, whoever sees with the single essence of the consciousness of mere appearance and emptiness, that is the main one, said to be the yogi who has perfected the illusory body. With this actually, for the phenomena appearing to one's own consciousness, one obtains such clarity. Since not all knowable things are directly seen, therefore, even if others do not obtain the actual clarity, they understand it implicitly. Similarly, from seeing form to touching touch, hearing, feeling, and experiencing, etc., all moving and unmoving beings are not truly real like an illusion. Correspondingly, in meditative equipoise, whatever self and other containers and contents are encompassed by the coarse appearance, there is no object of focus, i.e., it does not appear. In the conventional, although there is appearance, the subtle mandala of wind-mind has an illusory appearance, it is so explained. Thus, the karmic appearances that one can see and hear cease, and the path of their traces becomes even wider.

Furthermore, the infinite pure appearances pervading the mandala wheels, etc., are a sign of gaining stability in illusory samadhi, which is the second sign. Whatever sense faculty becomes the path, all coarse object appearances, such as forms, should be blended with the nature of great bliss, which is their essence. When not in samadhi, the practice of conduct during breaks is to cultivate bliss, and when cultivated with the wisdom of illusion, those objects also become enlightened. When the deity form of the illusory body, etc., is equally blended with the nature of all pure appearances, and arises spontaneously, it is the perfection of the post-meditation illusory body, which is the third sign. This means that in post-meditation, merely cultivating appearances with bliss and emptiness, without the need for other generation efforts, the deity form and other pure appearances appear vividly like lightning, which is the measure of the perfection of the post-meditation illusory body. Moreover, at all times and in all directions, all Buddhas and oneself are always inseparable in all aspects. One will see that all Buddhas are established as one's own essence. Or, in the translation of the Twenty Mandala Ritual, it says: "Through that, in all places, at all times, in all forms, in all lives, one will see that all Buddhas are established as one's own nature." This is easy to understand. In short, wherever one is, whatever the situation, whatever the behavior, all beings' own nature is the essence of all Buddhas, which has been established from the beginning, and the practitioner will see it himself. This is the method for the extreme perfection of the illusory body, which is the fourth sign. Furthermore, actually seeing all Buddhas residing within oneself is the time of the non-learning union with practice. In the state of learning union, seeing and not seeing are mixed. At this time, although not actually seeing, in the state of samadhi, through experiencing one's own deity form, one can also see the Buddhas residing, which is in accordance with it. In the post-meditation state, one obtains the certainty that arises from this, and there is no way to turn back. Fourth, the benefits of obtaining this stage.
