Therefore, it is to gain this special certainty that this form with attributes is the deity who blesses oneself. Just as the victorious kings, the Buddhas, who dwell in the pure realms of the ten directions, their bodies have no bones, flesh, etc. Although it is only a wisdom body like the moon in water, when manifesting a manifestation body for the benefit of sentient beings, even without the effort of a manifestation mind, it can cause the sentient beings to be tamed to see, hear, and touch a body with form. Although the wisdom body has no coming and going, it enters into the various realms of the body that appear coarse in a pervasive manner, just as space pervades all things. Just as the wisdom body enters the manifestation body and performs the activities of the manifestation body, in the base state, the power of the dream body can perform the activities of awakening, and the illusory body of meditative equipoise appears only as pure appearance. This, in the post-meditation state, enters into the coarse vessel and essence world. Therefore, it is believed that the fruit of dreams arises in awakening. Because in the dream state, the power of the transformation of the appearance of wind and mind also exists in the awakened body, so the fruit arises. And, due to the power of the wisdom body, the manifestation body can also perform activities such as teaching the Dharma. And, as the merits of the illusory body of meditative equipoise increase more and more, the activities and deeds of the post-meditation illusory body also increase more and more. The more numerous and clear the illusory body deities of meditative equipoise are, the finer and clearer this impure body of post-meditation will become. Here, regarding the differences in the distinction and aggregation of the coarse body and the wind mind, some of our lamas, such as the great venerable Paṇḍita Śāntarakṣita, have said: In the ordinary state, the two are very mixed like clay and water. But in this third stage, the nature is very unmixed, but exists as a collection like cotton soaked in water. Therefore, although the two exist as a collection, their essence is very unmixed. So it is said. In addition, there is such a metaphor: For example, a vase, the space of the vase pervades and mixes without distinction, but when you see the vase, you do not see the space, and if you break the vase, then the space...

Although the sky is seen, there is no vase. Furthermore, even if the vase is not broken, if an obscuring substance mantra is applied to the vase, even if the vase exists, it cannot be seen, and the sky is seen. Just as when observed with a divine eye, both the vase and the sky of the vase are seen simultaneously, although the coarse body is pervaded by the subtle body, in the waking state only the coarse body is seen, and the subtle body is not seen. For sentient beings in samsara, the intermediate state when the coarse body is destroyed, and the state of union when the coarse body is abandoned through practice, since there is no coarse body, only the subtle body appears. In the stage of the illusory body, although the coarse body has not yet transformed and actually exists, in the state of meditative equipoise, it is not seen, and only the subtle body appears, just as in the post-meditation state a rainbow appears on a mountain, both appear simultaneously. The continuity of the deity's form that appears in meditative equipoise, when the appearance of the coarse body arises in the post-meditation state, the subtle body that depends on the coarse body remains and enters in the form of radiance, so it is called entering. Do not think of the meaning of entering as something else. In this way, these two bodies of dream and illusory body are combined as example and meaning, and for the death luminosity and intermediate state of the ground stage, this same sequence can be used to represent them. In order to represent the luminosity of the path and union, the way dreams appear is explained in detail. Therefore, at the time of death, the twenty-five coarse elements dissolve into the subtle elements, and the four subtle appearances also dissolve sequentially, and when the boundless luminosity arises, through the power of the dissolving sequence, the coarse body and the clear body separate, and at that time of the dissolving sequence, through the power of the mind's bliss and clarity, the power of clarity transforming into strength matures, and as soon as the death luminosity awakens, the intermediate body is formed, just as a dream appears after deep sleep. Similarly, if the dissolving sequence at the time of death, and the power exceeding the death luminosity, are present in samadhi, what need is there to say more? Even if there is only equal power, when the wisdom of how coarse and subtle elements dissolve appears, because the cause of life is not exhausted and there is no disease that causes death, the body and mind will not gradually separate, but in self-appearance, without relying on the coarse body, the subtle body can appear stably, and this occurs because of the dissolving sequence.
