Now, just as it appears, the Buddhas possess the three bodies and activities. That is to say, from the ultimate realm of reality, all the dharmas of the ground, path, and fruition appear. This is because the ultimate realm of reality is the all-encompassing aspect of ultimate truth, and therefore, for samsaric beings and yogis, it appears as all the conventional aspects of purity and impurity. The Buddhas also manifest all conventional aspects in the way they appear to others. The example of all aspects can be compared to the example of a pill that contains various medicines. Furthermore, for example, the one called "King who is victorious in all four directions, Great God," is not a gathering of many people, but a single person. He issues commands to the people of the four directions, and therefore rules over the lands of the four directions. At that time, the one who issues commands to the east and rules the east is the same one who rules the south and issues commands. But in reality, although the one who issues commands to the people of the east is the one who rules the south, it is not said that because he issues commands to the people of the east, he rules the south. Similarly, although all the appearances of the ground, path, and fruition arise from the single aspect of the ultimate vase of the ultimate realm of reality, because it is the aspect of the ultimate vase, the conventional aspect of the vase appears. Because it is the aspect of the ultimate pillar, it is said that the conventional appearance of the pillar arises. But it is not said that the conventional pillar arises from the aspect of the ultimate vase, or that the vase arises from the pillar, and so on. In reality, there is no contradiction, but because it does not conform to the ways of the world. Furthermore, for example, the sky is the space that accommodates all forms, and therefore clouds and darkness, etc., also appear. Wind and sunlight, etc., also appear. At times when the wind dispels the clouds and the sunlight dispels the darkness, there also appears the state where the sky is empty and clear, without dimness, and the eye consciousness can directly see it. However, the clouds and darkness, the wind and sunlight, and the eye consciousness that sees the sky, do not taint the sky. The sky also does not produce these, but the sky does not hinder the arising of these. The cause of the existence of the sky that does not hinder

If names are taken as the proximate cause, then these will arise, hence the expressions such as "clouds appear in the sky." Similarly, this very nature of mind does not actually generate the conventional dharmas of the three bases, paths, and results, nor is it the cause of generating them, nor is it the agent of these arising, but in reality, this nature of dharma is all-encompassing, and for this reason, samsarins, yogis, and buddhas experience this and that. In these three states, when the dharmas of the base, path, and result arise, this mind does not obscure or hinder them, and it exists as the common ground for them. If this nature of mind that does not obscure or hinder did not exist, then these would not arise, and because it exists when the proximate cause is present, these arise. Therefore, all conventional dharmas arise from the ultimate realm. All the dharmas of the base, path, and result have arisen. These various appearances are its activity. Because this is a conventional expression, the designations of cause, effect, agent, and activity are merely imputed based on a similarity. Therefore, in reality, the ultimate is not related to the conventional, and the conventional, because it lacks inherent existence, has nothing to relate to, and therefore is not related to the ultimate. The conventional arises because the ultimate nature of dharma exists, and if the ultimate nature of dharma did not exist, then the conventional could not arise either. Therefore, although the ultimate is not related to the conventional, conventionally speaking, the conventional is related to the ultimate, but this relationship is also imputed. Thus, the nature of dharma is "possessing all aspects, lacking all aspects." That is to say, it possesses all ultimate aspects, all aspects exist by their own nature, are established by their own nature, and exist, but it does not have any conventional aspects, because all conventional aspects have never existed from the beginning. Such a dharmadhatu possessing all aspects is the very nature of mind, and therefore it is called the naturally luminous mind. Its essence is unchanging bliss, its self-image is the emptiness form of the great seal, and its characteristic is...
