Yes, and when a little bliss arises inwardly, the thought "This is bliss" arises, accompanied by a slight clinging and attachment. Some say that "joy" means not being attached to form. They say this because they do not understand the connection of the negative "a" (Tibetan: ཨ, Sanskrit Devanagari: अ, Sanskrit Romanization: a, literal Chinese meaning: no) that negates "attachment" with the previous letter, so the early translators translated it as "attachment," which is a mistake. Their own tenet also holds that because they realize that form and mind are inseparable, it is to express the meaning of not being attached to form. However, most early Tibetans believed that for the yogi's mind, the meaning of being attached to form lies in not understanding that emptiness-form and mind are separate, and not leaving emptiness. In any case, if we talk about the bliss caused by it, both statements are acceptable. But if we talk only about its own nature, both statements are inconsistent with "joy." However, it should be done like this: this joy is the joy-bliss caused by emptiness-form, and because there is attachment to it, it is expressed by the word "attachment." This is called "bliss aimed at external objects," and the meaning of "external" does not refer to external forms, etc., but refers to the meaning of apprehending bliss from external objects with discriminating thoughts. Therefore, the nature of this limb is only the bliss arising from emptiness-form, and in this stage of joy, it is accompanied by clinging. Then there is unwavering bliss, which is that the samadhi itself transforms into the nature of bliss, and there is no obvious attachment to it. For emptiness-form, bliss, and mind-essence, in meditative equipoise, the clinging to their differences disappears, and the appearance of differences also diminishes, which is a characteristic of extremely refined bliss. Therefore, in the stage of unwavering bliss, saying that form and mind are combined is also saying that form, mind, and bliss are inseparable. Among them, the two stages of wisdom and investigation are to prove that form and mind have not yet been established as inseparable, while the stage of analysis is the yoga of just establishing inseparability, and the stages of joy and bliss are the yoga of establishing stability and completion. Among these stages, the definite meaning spoken of in the stage of analysis is not the definite thought of discriminating thoughts, but the definite meaning is pervasive, and pervasiveness is also the meaning of mixing, that is, the grasper and the grasped are not different, but are mixed into one.
