Perhaps there are other sayings, but this is merely a symbol representing the ultimate Mahāmudrā. The notion of considering the common Śūnyatā practice of exoteric and esoteric teachings as Mahāmudrā is very prevalent in this region, and some Indian scholars may also say so. However, when establishing the four Mudrās, including the unique Mahāmudrā of the Tantric path, if it is said that there exists a path common with the exoteric teachings called Mahāmudrā, even if such a claim is allowed, it deviates from the current topic. Therefore, making such distinctions is unwise. Thus, in this stage of establishing the Completion Stage, although there may be slight differences in the recognition of Mahāmudrā, the main praise is for the yoga of the empty-form Mahāmudrā. Eighth, this Vajra Yoga is also called Inner Awareness. As stated in the King of Tantras: "Awareness (rigpa, विद्या, vidyā, knowledge) is the inner, unchanging awareness; the Buddhas have well-spoken of it in this world." Its commentary also states: "Awareness means non-conceptual inner awareness, which is emptiness endowed with all aspects. Furthermore, unchanging is also awareness, which is of the nature of being without object and without outflows. Awareness is of the nature of cause and effect, where cause and effect become one, just as light and burning become one." Therefore, from the perspective of each of emptiness-form and unchanging bliss, it is also said to be self-awareness. But the main emphasis is on the nature of their union. Ninth, this Vajra Yoga is the ultimate Great Madhyamaka Yoga. It has the nature of combining emptiness with object, compassion without object, and unchanging bliss, because it abides in the ultimate Madhyamaka in all three stages of ground, path, and result. As the King of Tantras also says: "Whoever speaks of emptiness and compassion as non-dual, that declining side will become non-declining." Regarding emptiness and compassion here, the Great Commentary says: "Here, whose compassion is without object and without concept

Emptiness, devoid of (conceptual elaborations), possessing all perfections, enters into the three times in order to know the three times. Thus it is said. So, the Madhyamaka of reality is: Not existent, not non-existent, not both existent and non-existent, nor is it the nature of both. That which is liberated from the four extremes, that is what the Madhyamika understands. Thus, merely labeling the name of Madhyamaka to that which is free from extremes, and how is that reality realized? Like this, all phenomena that appear, when searched with wisdom, are not found at all. That which is not found is the ultimate truth. Like this, when the object that appears as something to be grasped, which has never existed from the beginning, disappears by thoroughly examining the knowable, then the mind that grasps also subsides in its own place, and merely labeling the name of realizing freedom from extremes to that. In short, nothing is established in the ultimate truth, and this conventional truth is also just an appearance, and it cannot be expressed as either existent or non-existent, or as being or not being. This is similar to the three Madhyamakas of ground, path, and result. That which can experience bliss and that which can see images are objects, practices, and conventional dharmas. Just that much is not reasonable to be Madhyamaka. Furthermore, reality is a part of the distinction, so such a union that is established in common usage will not become reality, and meditating on that will not reverse the grasping of objects, because the grasping of objects and the way of grasping are not contradictory. Just as being certain that there is a tree in the east does not reverse the grasping that there is a mountain in the west. Thinking like this is boasting of realizing the nature of reality with the intellect of reasoning, turning one's back on the ultimate state of definitive meaning, and it is a great darkness of wrong understanding by those who have not understood the profound secret mantra. There is much to be examined in detail about these, but to speak of the essence, it is like this: In the world, it is also like this, if one is certain that there is a lion in a certain cave, then one can realize that there is no fox, and if one is certain that the sun has risen, then one can realize that there is no darkness. Likewise, if one is certain that the three existences of ultimate wisdom have existed from the beginning, then one can realize that the three existences of conventional consciousness have never existed from the beginning. Therefore, by meditating on bliss and emptiness, both the grasping of objects and the appearance of objects are reversed. Emptiness and form,
