recite "Ra Ra La La La La Vajra Aveshaya Hum!" (Tibetan: བཛྲ་ཨཱ་བེ་ཤ་ཡ་ཧཱུཾ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: वज्र आवेशय हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: vajra āveśaya hūṃ, Literal Chinese Meaning: Vajra Enter Hum) in a low voice, and then place the previous flower on the student's head. Finally, scatter a little flower and say, "May the special wisdom of the six-limbed yoga quickly arise." Just as fish quickly rise from a clear river, so too, from the empty clarity of all things, a web of illusion will arise. By placing the mind in a state of non-thought, various uncertain experiences such as bodily experiences, verbal experiences, mental experiences, visual experiences, and dream experiences will spontaneously arise. By treating all of these as incidental and maintaining them without modification, one can naturally liberate oneself without fault. After resting for a while, relax the body posture. If the student has good roots and the lama has a lineage of experience, then in that monastery, there will be a strong atmosphere of practice, and various experiences will continuously arise. Immediately after that, if he is placed in a strict retreat, it is like water entering the head of a canal, and meditation experiences will arise immediately. Within two, three, or seven days, the body posture will also become proficient. The way of looking will not stay for a long time, and one should endure as much as possible for eye irritation and so on. Within three days, one will become proficient, and after shedding tears a few times, the pain will subside and become stable and unmoving. Some debaters who have heard scattered talk about the binding of body posture say that it causes endless suffering to the body and eyes, and thus slander this Dharma. These people themselves have never meditated even for a single session in a dark retreat. When they hear the words of profound practice, they are so frightened that their hearts almost burst, and they blurt out panicked nonsense, thinking they are debating, which is ridiculous. Furthermore, it takes many years to become proficient in body posture and the way of looking. However, with this profound dark retreat, it is impossible not to become proficient within three, five, or seven days. Therefore, this method is very skillful, and the key instruction is very profound. After that, all body postures and ways of looking will be comfortable and pleasant. Suffering will disappear. How could it cause suffering to the eyes? Those with eye diseases will be cured immediately, which is an obvious fact. The sign of proficiency in body posture is that from what is seen and heard, twelve happy suns always rise. Furthermore, some people here behave licentiously.

disappeared. Some people pride themselves on being old practitioners proficient in meditation. Their intestines are like those of a fox that has been gutted. Their bodies lean forward, and their necks are bent. Their complexions are ashen. It is truly pitiful for those who are immersed in attachment, hatred, and delusion. For them, entrusting and realizing this profound Dharma is impossible. Thus, the above has explained in detail the supplementary methods for the preliminary instructions. Generally speaking, when giving practical instructions, it is crucial to tame one's mind through the preliminaries for all instructions. Especially for this Dharma, each preliminary practice has a good tradition of being practiced for several days. During this time, it is good to arrange a Dharma lesson each day that can enhance understanding. It is very rare for someone to be proficient in the essential meaning of the Dharma from the beginning. Therefore, in order to enhance the overall understanding of the Dharma, it is necessary to give a slightly detailed explanation. For those with great wisdom, there is no need to rely on these explanations at all. For those of medium capacity, please supplement as appropriate based on this, or explain based solely on this. For those with lesser abilities, please extract the most necessary parts from these contents and explain them. In order to show this extremely profound Dharma to everyone, I have written this brief supplementary method, hoping that it will be helpful to those who are dedicated to benefiting sentient beings. Now, before entering the main practice, it is necessary to first determine how much content there is in the guidance manual. If you like extensive explanations, then there is a detailed explanation of all the meanings in the "Union Lamp," from which you can quote appropriate parts to explain. Regarding the detailed explanation of signs, you can refer to the writings on "Signs and Measures." For the content that needs to be introduced, you need to refer to the writings on inner and outer introductions. For those contents that have already been explained in detail, I will not repeat them here. In general, in order to ensure the coherence of the sentences, not to confuse the key points of the sects, not to omit the key points of the pith instructions, and to avoid confusion, it is necessary to standardize the text. However, the key points of the pith instructions and the method of introduction should be introduced through personal experience and keeping them in mind, according to the student's ability to accept them. Merely relying on imitating diagrams will neither comprehend the key points of the pith instructions nor truly recognize one's own mind. However, this does not refer to mindless yoga, but rather to a state that is neither tightened nor relaxed, without any attachment. For example, a temple.
