The so-called "holding place" means not only not remembering the past and the future, but also not having anything to look at or hold on to in the present actual appearance. Because there is no meditation related to conceptualization, it is called "no meditation." Furthermore, in the Doha it says, "The nature of samsara is the very nature of mind." As the ignorant speak as if shooting an arrow, one should know "Tsenne." As it is said. This is like looking at the clear and aware aspect of the mind that is integrated with the appearance of the sky. All appearances of samsaric conceptualization, just at the moment of appearance, are self-purified into the very nature of clear awareness. Therefore, it is the yoga of self-liberation, or in order to make all appearances equal in the realm of reality, it is also called the yoga of one taste or equal taste. And "Tsenne" here indicates the way of abiding of the mind, not touching the two times of past and future, nor touching the two directions of inside and outside, abiding in the middle gap with moderate tightness and looseness. For example, just like the way a kingfisher rests on the treetop, generally speaking, this is also a way of restraining the mind. The so-called "associating with the middle one of the three brothers" is like when children are playing, there are three brothers on the other side, the older one is older than oneself, the younger one is younger than oneself, and the middle one is the same as oneself. It is uncomfortable to wrestle with the older and younger ones because their strength is uneven, but it is comfortable to associate with the middle one because their strength is equal, and playing is also very pleasant. Similarly, the past has passed and cannot be recovered; the wishes and hopes of the future are uncertain whether they will happen, and it is useless to hope even if one hopes, and entrusting hope in these two will only disturb the mind. Therefore, it is comfortable to abide without accepting or rejecting whatever appears in the present, so it is said. The so-called "effortless yoga" means that relaxing after restraining is effort, while abiding in effortlessness after relaxing. To this, the Great Brahma said, "The mind that is bound by ropes, there is no doubt that it will be liberated if it is relaxed." Some Chöd practitioners say, "Restrain with discipline and relax with looseness, the way of abiding of the mind is there." Therefore, this is also called the teaching of relaxing self-liberation. Generally speaking, deliberately restraining, deliberately relaxing, restraining

The alternation of tightness and looseness, and the four key points of neither tight nor loose, are merely special methods to bring out the best in whatever situation arises. In terms of reality, they are not tainted by anything. Some people, with a good grasp of non-acceptance and non-rejection, ultimately fall into a state of unified acceptance and rejection, contradicting themselves, falling into gods and demons, and turning good medicine into poison. For example, in the biography of Drikungpa Chenpo, it is recorded: I practiced the Mahamudra of the Saraha lineage, and while relaxing awareness, I suppressed it. The Lama said: What is the need for relaxation in Mahamudra? It is said that this makes the instructions better. Also, for disciples who are suitable for guidance, when practicing with the key points of the body, Zhang Tsalpa said: Even if you do this, you still repeatedly say Mahamudra, making various gestures. It is said that this is because the key point of the instructions is important. It is true that for that person, it was necessary to say that at that time. But for general practice, merely emphasizing the key point is not enough. In particular, if one verbally acknowledges that there is no acceptance or rejection, one will ultimately fall into a state of acceptance and rejection. There is no need for relaxation in Mahamudra! Even if there is no need for relaxation, what is there that cannot be relaxed? Overemphasizing relaxation is forbidden. Believing that one does not need to relax and practicing, this itself is acceptance and rejection. Similarly, forbidding focusing on the key points of the body, and believing that there is no fixed posture for practice, this itself is acceptance and rejection. Saying that there is no need for relaxation contradicts the doubt that there is no liberation without relaxation. Similarly, most Dzogchen practitioners forbid fabrication, and practice the unfabricated natural state. This acceptance and rejection itself is fabrication, becomes fabrication, and is tainted. There are also some who consider themselves to be highly advanced practitioners who say: Maintaining the unfabricated natural state is also difficult, it needs a master. For me, there is no difference between fabrication and non-fabrication, and there is no difference between the natural state and karma, while weaving lies. Being disgusted with the unfabricated natural state is precisely a sign of revealing a huge difference, so words and deeds are inconsistent, and understanding and experience do not match. Enough with the digression. For example, it is like a camel that is tied and then released. In the past, a camel herder tied a camel to a stake, and because it was narrow, the camel could only stand, lie down, be restless, and pull, and could not eat anything.
