Here, it serves as a common preliminary. Other main practices serve as uncommon preliminaries to this. This statement also refers to this. So, here it seems to be merely settling into non-conceptuality. If one thinks that searching for the mind and gathering mindfulness in some other places is superior, then the guard of mindfulness is also employed here. If the need arises to search for the mind, then this teaching also has it as a component. Not only does it have it, but it also has it in abundance. However, once the effort of investigation and analysis is made, searching for the mind is not particularly important. Therefore, this teaching has limitless ways to cut through errors in the experience of selflessness and emptiness. However, if one settles into the unaltered state as the basis of the path, then searching for the mind and mindfulness are not needed, because both are contrived. One cannot touch the original state. The Great Brahmin also said: "Leave the water and the lamp in self-illumination." For example, if muddy water is left undisturbed, all the mud will naturally settle and become clear, then everything in the water will be clearly visible. At that time, one does not need to grope around and stir the water to find what is in the muddy water, but can see it directly. Similarly, if the mind is left undisturbed, free from conceptual thoughts, then awareness will become clear and bright, and one will clearly see the nature and way of abiding of one's own awareness. At that point, one does not need to stir the muddy water of mind and conceptual thoughts with the hand of investigation and searching for the mind. One will effortlessly see the nature of the mind. Furthermore, although many now say that the gathering of mindfulness is necessary, it is from the perspective of identifying the arising of afflictions and conceptual thoughts that one cuts them off in the expanse. Those meditators call that mindfulness. This is also put into practice in all incidental situations. But that alone is not considered the ultimate practice. It is said that one must recognize the nature of the mind, and self-awareness through non-doing. If one distinguishes the mind, then only non-conceptuality is its nature. There is nothing to be surprised about in contrived recognition. If a pure mind-introduction is done, then everything will arise spontaneously. In short, most people cannot attain Buddhahood through contrived dharmas.

While muttering with his mouth, just wanting wisdom, relying on memory, looking at one's own face, and having to look at big things, etc., again fabricating in the mind, focusing one's mind on oneself is also very bad. Especially, when the experiential skills of wisdom expand without any restrictions, and all kinds of manifestations are boundless, one must allow the experience to arise naturally and be maintained. If one prides oneself on being the guardian of memory, bowing one's head and holding one's breath, it will create a great obstacle to the unrestricted manifestation of experience and merit. There are also many times when one needs to abandon the sentinel of memory. Some also say that conceptual thought is the skill of meditation and cannot be determined. Saraha said: When conceptual thought disappears, wisdom also disappears. Bad wisdom follows conceptual thought. From that, what more can arise than good wisdom, which is greater than the sky? Thus, it is explicitly forbidden. The tantra says: Conceptual thought is great ignorance, it is the cause of falling into the ocean of samsara. If one abides in non-conceptual samadhi, one will become like the sky, without defilement. It is said. After conceptual thought ceases, only awareness remains, and when one experiences a state where conceptual thought cannot stay, it seems that there is nothing. If one thinks and says that mind itself is conceptual thought and conceptual thought itself is mind, and if one thinks and says that conceptual thought is emptiness and emptiness is the dharmakaya, then one only recognizes one aspect of the manifestation and the characteristics of the mind, and a one-sided understanding arises. It seems that corresponding labels are attached to that understanding. For example, because land remains after water recedes, one thinks that water and land are the same; and when a house is collapsing, because there is empty space, it is like thinking that space itself is the house. Although there are some vague understandings related to experience, when explaining distinctions, one must do as the scriptures say. If one establishes a tenet according to the experiences of us ordinary people and creates new terms, that is the disturbance of Mara. Furthermore, one must distinguish between conceptual thought and the nature of conceptual thought. The nature of conceptual thought is emptiness, it is non-conceptual, so it is not conceptual thought. The manifestation of conceptual thought itself is an illusion that appears without existence, so conceptual thought itself
