Skilled in the work of writing, he is the teacher who expounds the secret mantras, extremely gentle and with subdued senses. This also appears in the "Fifty Verses on the Guru," but it is quoted in the "Vimalaprabha," so it is clear that it is a tantric phrase. From the King of Tantras, the Glorious Kalachakra: "First, one should rely on the gurus who possess vows and especially abide in the Vajrayana. Meditating on that (guru), without attachment, free from defilements, completely detached, entering the path in a state of patience. Bestowing the path upon the disciples, taking away the fear of hell, from that (guru) comes the practice of celibacy. For the demons, it is the vajra scepter, which is also known as Vajrasattva on the basis of holding the earth." These are the qualities of the guru. Arrogant and proud, suppressing with desire, vows reversed, greedy for possessions, and without learning. Deceiving disciples, seeking profit, disgusted with the place of supreme bliss, not bestowing empowerment. Attached to enjoyment, unrestrained, with harsh words, desiring for the sake of sensual pleasures. Such a (guru) is like hell, and wise disciples should abandon him as a cause for perfect enlightenment. These are the classifications of faults. For the profound and vast (dharma), the mind rejoices in the guru's instructions, possessing the conduct of generosity, understanding qualities. Seeking liberation, respecting the tantras, possessing a sincere mind, the attainment of that (guru) is extremely hidden. Those who are degenerate friends of evil ones, such disciples should be taken in by extremely wise gurus. As a cause for wisdom empowerment and so on, the (disciple) called "other" again becomes a cause for middling merit. These are the characteristics of the disciple that are spoken of. Thus, there are two kinds of gurus: One who possesses all the characteristics is a supreme guru, and one who, although not fully possessing the characteristics of abandoning faults and having qualities, has indispensable qualities and is suitable as a guru. Similarly, the characteristics of disciples are divided into three

The seven faults, such as "without compassion," are faults of both the teacher and the disciple. If the teacher often commits these faults, he should not be taken as a teacher. It is best to completely abandon these faults, but it is difficult to find such a teacher nowadays. If five or six of the seven faults are abandoned, even if there are two or three faults, they will not cause harm. Among these faults, only the lack of compassion is the greatest fault, so it is very important to abandon it. The difference between anger and malice is that being easily angered is anger, while harboring resentment and holding grudges is malice. The other direct explanations are easy to understand. Regarding these, some different explanations are: In the Vajra Heart Commentary, it says: "The merciless one performs actions, the angry one strikes at the vital points, the malicious one rises up to harm the Sangha, the arrogant one is filled with evil knowledge, the greedy one seeks non-consumable things, the unrestrained one drinks excessively, the self-praising one speaks of this, and the one who denigrates the virtuous beings." Thus it is said. In the Concise Explanation of Manjushri's View, it says: "The merciless one is said to be the meat-eater, the angry one strikes with joy, the malicious one hates the virtuous person, the arrogant one abandons true wisdom, the attached one enjoys the wealth of the gods, the unrestrained one drinks excessively, the self-praising one slanders on the path of emptiness, and engages in slander." Thus it is said. Among these explanations, some explain the nature of that, and most seem to be giving examples. For an excellent disciple, it is necessary to abandon these faults from the beginning. In general, it is not certain for a disciple, even if these faults are often committed now, but later entering the door of Dharma, relying on the teacher, these faults will gradually be abandoned. For example, even if there is no compassion now, compassion can arise later, etc. If one can transform the mind and tame the mind, one can be relied upon as a disciple. The six qualities of being stable, etc., are also in terms of both the teacher and the disciple. For the teacher, it is necessary to have these qualities. For the disciple, if one is born with some qualities, then the rest can be compensated for by later efforts, and those aspects that can cultivate qualities are acceptable. "Knowing the union of mantra and tantra," the following is the discip
