Each of the islands is slightly smaller than the central island, and the shape is visualized to be similar to the central one. Here, the earth's environment has twelve sections, and it is said that in the center of each there are marks that rise upwards like mountains, such as crescent moons. These are the twelve islands that people use today. The reason why they are often referred to as "twelve sections" rather than "twelve islands" is that it is necessary to include many other islets besides these twelve marks. All of these together must be understood as belonging to one continent, the "Jambudvipa," which is one of the seven great continents. For example, East Videha, South Jambudvipa (known as the small Jambudvipa), and North Kuru are all internal divisions of the seventh great continent, Jambudvipa. Note that they are not independent continents. Although the objects in each continent do not have a specific color, in order to symbolize their respective elements, visualize the three eastern continents as wind, i.e., black; the three southern continents as fire, i.e., red; the three northern continents as water, i.e., white; and the three western continents as earth, i.e., yellow. The outer iron fence, here called the Vajra Mountain, surrounds the perimeter of the earth's environment. If you have not previously visualized the three elements of water, fire, and wind below, then at this time you can simply clearly establish them; there is no need to visualize the surrounding environment of water, fire, and wind. If you visualize in a little more detail here, then the structure of mountains, oceans, and continents is like this: The tantra says, "The seven oceans of salt water, wine, water, milk, yogurt, butter, and honey, and the mountains are: Radiant Blue, Mandara, Nishadha, Jewel Light, Drona, Cool Mountain, Vajra." The continents are: Moonlight White, Supreme Excellence, Kusha, Non-Human, Crane, Fierce, Enjoyment Land, and the seventh is Jambudvipa, the place where people live is the place of karma. The eastern wind is very round, it is the lord of men; the southern fire is triangular; the northern water is half-moon shaped; and the western gold is the corner of the treasure of the water of the excellent earth. It is also said that all six water treasures are each less than the previous one by one thousand moons. All the continents and the peaks of the mountain ranges are twenty-five thousand thousands like that, which is the expanse of Jambudvipa.

And the treasure of salt water is half a million yojanas in size. It is said that the base of Mount Sumeru in the center, around that round platform, is fifty-five thousand yojanas. The direct measurement of the center is eighteen thousand yojanas, and the land below that is surrounded by the base connected to the steps of Mount Sumeru. The width of eight hundred and ninety yojanas is called the Moon Continent. The outer perimeter of that continent is surrounded by a trench. The mouth width of eight hundred and ninety yojanas is the Honey Sea. The outer perimeter is surrounded like an iron fence. A pattern called Blue Light surrounds it, and the width of the base of the mountain's boundary, which varies in thickness, is also eight hundred and ninety yojanas. By analogy, the White Light Continent connected to the base of that mountain surrounds it, and outside that is the Ghee Sea surrounding it, and outside that is a pattern called Mandara surrounding it, and so on, it should be understood. The Kusha Continent and the Yogurt Sea and Mount Nishada and the Non-Human Continent and the Milk Sea and the Jewel Light Mountain and the Crane Continent and the Water Sea and the mountain called Drona and the Fierce Continent and the Wine Sea and the Cool Mountain or the Snow Mountain, like this, the six mountains, six continents, and six seas besides Mount Sumeru, a total of eighteen, all of which are equal in width at eight hundred and ninety yojanas, and the amount of height is not clearly stated. The outer perimeter of the Cool Mountain is connected to the base of the mountain, and is surrounded by the Great Jambudvipa. However, except for the twelve small continents and many other small continents, the middle is covered by the water flow of the Salt Sea. However, each of those twelve land pieces has an inner width of twelve thousand five hundred yojanas and an outer width of twenty-five thousand yojanas. From then on, the surrounding water of the Salt Sea has a width of half a million yojanas. The six mountains, seas, and continents in the middle, when added together, have a width of sixteen thousand yojanas in each direction. Those are all contained under the umbrella of Mount Sumeru, the edge of the umbrella and the Cool
