That's all. The seventh point, the difference between refuge in the Great and Small Vehicles, is: Common, the rule of the Lesser Vehicle is until the end of life; special, the rule of the Great Vehicle is until the essence of enlightenment. The difference in intention is: The Lesser Vehicle mainly wants to liberate oneself from the suffering of samsara, while the Great Vehicle is to save all sentient beings from the suffering of samsara. The difference in aspiration is: Each aspires to attain enlightenment. Although there are only differences in size regarding the objects of refuge, rituals, and activities, there is no contradiction because the higher includes the lower. In particular, in the tantric tradition, the difference in time is infinite, the difference in intention is the desire to quickly save sentient beings, and the difference in aspiration is the desire to easily enter the path and obtain the innate fruit. By adding these, the meaning is accomplished. After generating the mind of enlightenment, if you want to explain the meaning a little, there are two: explaining the mind of enlightenment and explaining the four immeasurables. First, the first point is to identify the nature of the mind of enlightenment: Generally speaking, the so-called mind of enlightenment also includes entering the ultimate realm of suchness, and also includes the wisdom of non-conceptual direct realization. The ultimate mind of enlightenment is also the name for the arising of this wisdom in the continuum. Even so, without distinguishing between conventional and ultimate, whether the mind of enlightenment has arisen in the continuum, whether it is embraced by the mind of enlightenment, etc., the basis for the term mind of enlightenment, the most famous and most important is love and great compassion, which is the so-called conventional mind of enlightenment. In this Great Vehicle, there is a slight difference between compassion and great compassion. Compassion is merely not enduring the suffering of others and wanting them to be free from suffering, which is the compassion within the four immeasurables. Great compassion is the name of the mind of enlightenment, which is considered to have compassion as its root.

Actually, wanting to attain perfect enlightenment, at that time, "for the sake of others" means: In order to settle all sentient beings in perfect enlightenment. The second point, the classification is: divided into two types of Bodhicitta, aspiration and practice, or divided into two types of Bodhicitta, self-other equality and self-other exchange. Among them, aspiration Bodhicitta is merely wanting to attain Buddhahood for the sake of others, while practice Bodhicitta is, for the sake of attaining Buddhahood, wanting to immediately practice the conduct of Bodhisattvas such as the six perfections and the four means of gathering. Here, there is also a pure aspiration Bodhicitta that is devoid of practice, but there is no pure practice Bodhicitta. A person who has practice Bodhicitta definitely also has aspiration Bodhicitta. It's just that the subtleties of wisdom are different. The two, self-other equality and self-other exchange, equality is the main one, and exchange is to eliminate obstacles and increase benefits. Among them, equality is: oneself and all sentient beings are equal in being without self-nature, and are also equal in the oneness of the wisdom of Dharma-nature, the benefit of sentient beings is one's own wish, so they are also equal in wishes, oneself and sentient beings are equal in wanting to obtain happiness, and are equal in not wanting suffering, and are also equal in having to accomplish happiness and having to eliminate suffering. There is no distinction of importance, and there is no distinction of cherishing and not cherishing, both are equally cherished. Therefore, after oneself attains Buddhahood, one wants to settle all sentient beings in Buddhahood. The equality in importance mentioned here does not mean putting all other sentient beings aside and oneself being equal alone. Rather, it means that any sentient being is equal to oneself, and if sentient beings become very numerous, then they can only surpass oneself. Even so, sentient beings want to attain enlightenment just as oneself does, oneself also wants to attain that enlightenment. Because wanting to bestow the fruit on others is equal, therefore it is self-other equality. Self-other exchange is: beings in samsara only want themselves to be happy and good, and do not think of others in this way. Some beings hope that others suffer, while others remain neutral. Perhaps they hope that relatives and friends and a few others are happy, but they do not cherish them more than themselves, and only think that they are unimportant. But Bodhisattvas, on the basis of themselves and others, consider others to be more important.
