It is also said about the double body image. The latter refers to the case where the center of the platform is high. Similarly, the walls are three times higher than the height of the yellow powder, and the other lines are said to be twice as high. These are difficult to implement in practice nowadays, so one should aspire to them in one's mind. It is better to make slight differences in thickness according to the order. Some people think they can make the walls three times as high as the yellow color. But this is not meant to be a branch of Tantra, but rather a mixture of lime water, etc., so it is not difficult, according to Lama Pandita. Furthermore, the basis of the directional colors is the lotus, and the sun and moon, etc., are also stacked on top of the lotus, so the powder colors gradually increase in height. It is also said that some powder should be spread on the surrounding ground. The term "barley" refers to the part of each mandala that is divided into two halves and then divided into eight parts. It is one part of the seven hundred and sixty-eight parts of the root line of each mandala. However, in the mandalas of mind and speech, there are also cases where one-fourth of a barley is called a barley. The second point is to avert bad omens: Thus, in the powder mandala, the Sutra says: If the powder is carried away by the wind, it indicates terror, and in the country, the king will also have terror. One should protect against harm like this. Also, as it is said: Swelling heals diseases, and if the lines are thin and bad, it clearly shows that the substance is deteriorating. Fracture indicates death, and crookedness indicates that the town, including the ruler, will move. If the signs of the sun and moon are incomplete, the mantra practitioners will not have the accomplishment of subduing the terrors of existence. If they are mixed up, the eight lineages will be cut off, and the lineage of the Victorious Ones should recognize these principles of the powder mandala. As it is said, one should be careful after knowing the faults. Also, after seeing those bad omens, one should again strive to recite the mantras of the main deities. As it is said, if bad omens occur during the drawing of lines and coloring, one should strive to perform tormas, recitations, fire offerings, and peggings, as in the case of subduing demons above, until signs of aversion appear, and one should not abandon the work.

Third, examining the colors of the directions: Here, in the commentary on the thirty-third chapter of Yele, it says, "Therefore, because the mind is completely pure, the east becomes the place of the auspicious black one. Because the speech is completely pure, the south is the same as the sun. Because the face of wisdom is completely pure, the west is golden, that is, yellow. Because the face of the body is completely pure, the north is also different, that is, white. Thus, by distinguishing the faces of Vajradhara, one should scatter colored powders in all directions." Thus, the distinction of the four directions is spoken of, but the distinction of the eight directions is not mentioned at all. Furthermore, it is said: "In the east, because the wind is completely pure, the mind-vajra color black pervades the part of the earth." And so on. The meaning of distinguishing the faces is that each of the four directions has one face, that is, four faces. Except for the intersection between two faces, there is no face directly facing each corner, so the boundary of the ground between the front face and the right face will fall on the southeast corner. If each direction is divided equally, and the southeast part is the position of the root face, then the burden of the root face in the due east will show the left corner. Therefore, either the back of the head and the neck are twisted outwards, or if they are not twisted, the sitting posture will become crooked, and the shape of the body will become an unprecedented disharmony, so do not make such self-creations. Because the distinction of the faces has been spoken of, the four faces can distinguish the four directions, but without eight faces, do not distinguish the eight directions. If you distinguish the eight directions, you must also combine them with the eight faces. In the case of having eight faces, it is necessary to make the intersection on the diagonal line to succeed, but east-southeast black, etc., will not succeed. Similarly, in the tantras, it says: "On the ground of the directions, in the place of color, the lord of men, the Buddha, by distinguishing, will scatter colored powders." Thus, it is said that the direction of the place of color is done by distinguishing the four families of victorious ones. The four Buddhas are in the four directions, but not in the corners, so the corners are ignored. From the part of the fire corner, the parts close to the east are the color of the east, and the parts close to the south are the color of the south, etc., which is the meaning. If the east and southeast are black, and the south and southwest are red, etc., then in the part of the directions and corners, the colored powders are scattered by the distinction of the four Buddhas and the four mothers, that is, eight kinds.
