The land has also expanded, and the edges should be slightly thickened, with no shrinkage inside. This is called the Vajra opening. Both the vajra and the bell have distinctions of peaceful and wrathful, so it is thought that the face also needs peaceful and wrathful aspects. The bell can be made slightly simpler, with the horns on top made about four fingers long. The middle part has a lotus on top, a face in the middle, and a short staff of about half a finger added below the lotus as a cover. The remaining length of about one finger is added to the height of the bell below, making the bell itself four fingers long and the top height one finger. At that time, if the inner edge of the bell's hairline, which has a circumference, is the same as the outer edge of the thickness of the vajra's horns, it will not contradict the scriptures and will be beautiful, so it is thought that there is nothing wrong with this. Here, in the "Mandala Ritual, Ocean of Wisdom," it says: "The peaceful one is like the face of a cow, marked by the vajra's mouth being closed; the wrathful one is like a lotus in full bloom, marked by the vajra's mouth being open." The meaning of this is that the belly of the bell is like the mouth of a cow and a lotus, but everyone understands it to mean that the top is marked by opening and closing. However, the steward, Cho Drakpa, misunderstood, taking the meaning of the cow's face to be the vajra's mouth being closed, and the meaning of the lotus in full bloom to be the mouth being open, and wrote that the Omniscient Great One also thought so. This is like looking for faults in others and speaking carelessly, which results in a great cause for oneself to be ridiculed by others. The commentary says: "The face of a cow is for the peaceful." In the commentary, it says: "The edge of the bell is gathered inward." In the commentary on "the mouth of a lotus in full bloom," it says: "The edge of the bell is spread outward, please also see." The bell, as mentioned above, should be visualized as the nature of various mother goddesses in the form of the bell itself. For the preparation of the other five substances, it can be understood through the mandala ritual itself. Third, the disciple remains: If the five substances remain in their original place, the substances are moved elsewhere. Afterwards, when the mattress remains, it is said that it is still placed on the ground of the mandala, even if it is separated by a curtain or covered with a lid, because the purpose is the same. If it is in a place other than the mandala room, it should be avoided.

Therefore, there is no need to collect items, but to use them as appropriate. The actual disciple remnants mentioned in the commentary itself are: discarding the toothpick, protecting with the six-syllable mantra, and invoking Vajrasattva, these three things are sufficient. Prior prayer, and explaining the Dharma in order to become a vessel, can be added as appropriate from this very tantra. If one only wants to perform the self-generation ritual of Kalachakra, and the disciple also only believes in these, then these are the preparations for abandoning all faults and perfecting all qualities. For those who like elaboration, supplementing with the general secret ritual is as stated in the mandala ritual. Examining according to this system, Indian fabricated masters, and many Tibetans, abandon the categories of the five families within the vow constraints arising from the Secret Treasure Ritual, and see the entry into the six families' vow constraints of Kalachakra. They do this because they do not understand that "Like the protectors of the three times," etc., and "Those who are not liberated, I will liberate," etc., are all included within "Bodhi I have generated" in this tantra. Mixing them together, not only does it not become two, but it becomes non-two, and thus they are confused. When supplementing, regarding the phrase "All vows are complete, I will truly uphold and perform them," they do not know the limits of arrangement in sleep and place them, etc., only quoting fragments. Some think that reciting the vow constraints of the five or six families three times will completely obtain the mantra vow, which is incorrect, because this leads to the fault of already completely obtaining the mantra vow during the preparation stage. The others are easier to understand, because I want to write something about the overall meaning of the mandala ritual, so I will not say it here. The practice of our own former lamas is just the preparation of the Kalachakra self-generation ritual mentioned above. It also seems that they do this for self-entry. In the practice offering, it is also considered necessary for all eight remnants to be complete, and if it can be done, it should be done that way. Fourth is the bed remnant: In the state where the five substances exist without confusing directions, a bed is set up in the southern part of the mandala site, and many mantras such as Om (Tibetan: ཨོཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari: ओम्, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ, Chinese literal meaning: Om) Hum (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: Hum) are recited, with the head facing west and the feet facing east, the master himself in the lion's sleeping posture.
