The eight directional vases. The five directional vases cover the four directional vases. That is to say, in the ten directions, the four directions and the upper direction belong to the victorious one, and are included in the vase of the victorious one. The lower direction and the four corners belong to the victorious one. The great victorious one encompasses all ten directions. According to the five directions, the east, north, and upper three directions are the direction of the victorious one. The south, west, and lower three directions are the direction of the victorious one. In all these directions, the directions of the victorious one should be regarded as skillful means, and the directions of the victorious one should be regarded as wisdom. Here, the action vase seems to have been mostly made by previous generations. Although the practice of manifest signs should not be denied, the view of the tantric commentaries is that purification with the great victorious one or the victorious conch is also sufficient. As stated in the context of the fire offering, it is also acceptable to separately accomplish cleansing water with the six-syllable mantra (Tibetan: ཡི་གེ་དྲུག་པ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: षडक्षरी, Sanskrit Romanization: ṣaḍakṣarī, Chinese literal meaning: six syllables), and the action vase will perform that function. Having explained the characteristics of the vase itself, now the implements will be explained. The base of the vases can be carved, sewn with cloth, made of earth, painted, or made of powdered colors, but it should be in the shape of a white eight-petaled lotus. The decorations for the mouth can also be made of silver or wood in the shape of a white lotus. If real lotuses cannot be found in Tibet, ordinary white flowers are also acceptable. Willow branches are definitely necessary. The neck binding is different for each action, and for common use, clean cloths, either pure white, pure yellow, or half white and half yellow are acceptable. Some people making them in directional colors is also not contradictory. In any case, a pair of cloths symbolizing the upper and lower garments, and for stabilizing the power of the lineage mantra, symbolizing the Brahma thread, and for auspiciousness, white threads are wrapped seven times around the neck of the vase. The emblems of the vases: for the victorious one, on top of various lotuses, suns, moons, and Rahu, there is a blue three-pronged vajra; for the victorious mother, there is a green five-pronged vajra. Alternatively, the victorious one has a vajra, and the victorious mother has a curved knife. The east and southeast have swords, the south and southwest have jewels, the west and northwest have wheels, and the north and northeast have lotuses, these are the directional colors. These should also be placed on a lotus, sun, and moon seat. In short, all the vase emblems have no seat.

It's okay. Sādhuputra considers the red lotus in the southwest and the Utpala in the northeast to be the vases of the four consorts. Because according to his own system, the vases are not the vases of the five families and five consorts, so it is not necessary to do so, but merely symbolic of the six elements. Fourth, regarding the inner substances: If we are to summarize the items that appear in the tantra commentaries, then: Vajra is divided into five according to color. Sapphire, red lotus, crystal, ruby, emerald are the five supreme jewels. Pearl, coral, agate, Śūla, and the sixth Thigle are the intermediate jewels. Crystal, Jīva, Jātī, Ḍoharī, barley, green crystal are the five inferior jewels. Gold, silver, copper, iron, magnet, molten iron, are called the five metals, thus there are twenty-five. Take any five jewels and five metals. Camphor, cardamom, Prika, Sihya, and Lhagang are the first set of five. Siṃha, Mudrāka, Kakola, Priyaṅgu, black Akara, and Śailen are the second set. Musk, Jātī, saffron, Mura, and rue are the third set. Putra, Keśa, Tamāla leaves, Nāgakesara, sandalwood, Uśīra, these are the fourth set of five fragrances. Bheruṇḍa, Bruṇ, Chinese incense, flowers, and herbs, creepers, known as musk, and grass incense, Bālakā are the fifth set. These are twenty-five kinds of fragrance. The suppressor of the pervader (Vishnu), the staff of Brahma, the hair of the wrathful one, as well as Prasibha, Devadāli, a group with rabbits, Adhopuṣpa, Karṇikā, as well as Indravaruṇī and Lakṣaṇa, the herb called pig's ear, are the herb group, referred to as the number of eyes. Jyotisya, Tidu, Lajjāluā, Arka, Muṣalī are worldly things. The fourth set of five are Putraṃjāri, Mohane, Hāsadeva, Kṛtañjali, Ajakarṇa. Kaṇḍakarī, sweet tree, peacock crest, Bṛhatī, and Bhaṃgarājari, are the five senses, totaling twenty-five. Soybean, mung bean, white Cana, black sesame are the five forms. Wheat, white sesame, and Kotrapa, mung bean are called the five walking beans. Yunāga, Tripuṭā, and barley, mung bean, Auṣṭha are called the five fires. Small bean, Parbaṭikā, mustard, speckled bean, Tubarī are water treasures. Kulantā and Varṇacana.
