It has been mentioned slightly before, but now it will be explained more clearly. The empowerment of the Vajra Acharya is divided into two: the empowerment of the Vajra Acharya Lord and the empowerment of the Great Lord. Some say this: If there are two empowerments of the Vajra Acharya, then it contradicts the fixed number of "the higher empowerment is of two kinds," because the higher empowerment has three: disciple, lord, and great lord. They say this. This is very foolish. For example, if there are four kinds of direct perception, then it contradicts the fixed number of two in valid cognition, direct perception and inference, because valid cognition has four: sensory direct perception, mental direct perception, self-awareness direct perception, and yogic direct perception, and five including inference. It is the same as saying "therefore." We will not fully express this, but you yourselves should consider whether this and that are the same or not. Therefore, if one admits a higher empowerment that is neither the disciple's empowerment nor the Acharya's empowerment, then it is correct to say that it contradicts the statement that "the higher empowerment is determined to be the two empowerments of the Acharya and the disciple." But if it also becomes like that by being divided from the category of the Acharya's empowerment, then according to your view, both the Acharya's and the disciple's empowerments have four each, totaling eight, so why does that not contradict the fixed number of two? If you think that those are divided only from within the category of two, so it does not contradict, then our intention here is also the same. Therefore, in this very context, the distinction between the two empowerments of the Acharya is also clearly made, with "giving the position of the Great Acharya" referring to the Great Lord empowerment, and "the teacher" referring to the Lord empowerment. Regarding this, some say this: In the tantras and commentaries that show the Vajra Acharya empowerment, these two sets of words that appear before and after should not be connected separately as "Lord" and "Great Lord," but should be mixed and supplemented to show one. To explain their argument, they state the contradiction like this: In the upper commentary, it says, "Now I, the Sugata, know all paths," and "The disciple who possesses all qualities abides in the commitment." In the lower commentary, it says, "Knowing all the tantras including the extensive commentary,"
