The path of abandoning the basis is to ultimately combine with emptiness, which stops the appearance of this and that through antidotes. Here, it is not like that. It does not aim at those basic dharmas themselves and ultimately lead to mere non-appearance, which completely blocks the appearance aspect. Rather, the deity's body and great bliss, etc., are transformed into something that is only slightly similar to the original form of the basic dharmas. By meditating on the wisdom with appearance, the state of the basis is realized. It should be understood in this way: In general, all the paths of the three vehicles of Sutra, Tantra, also have a mixture of both abandoning the basis and transforming the basis. However, the two lower vehicles mainly abandon the basis. In the Mahayana Sutra system, abandoning is also slightly more important. In the three tantras of Kriya, Charya, and Yoga, they are about the same. However, in this unsurpassed vehicle, transformation is much more important and especially important. Therefore, it is established from the perspective of what is most important. For example, for a poisonous tree, making it non-poisonous by cutting off leaves, pulling out roots, burning with fire, etc., is an example of abandoning the basis. If we use this method to purify the ordinary body, then at first, when it is impossible to settle in the non-appearance that blocks the appearance of the body, we meditate on the impurity, impermanence, suffering, and emptiness of the body, etc. These are only the long causes for the appearance of the body to disappear. Because of impurity, the body is not solid, but the cause of instability. Because of suffering, the appearance of the body is undesirable. Because of impermanence, it is destroyed moment by moment, so the appearance of the body has no time to arise and stay. Because of emptiness, it prevents one person from controlling and making the body exist. Even in those states, there is the object of no-self in mind, but it cannot be clearly manifested. After becoming accustomed to this, later, like the Hinayana, it is the no-self of the person, that is, the body is not unstable, and there is no independent thing in it, so I see that there is no self, and the appearance ceases there. In the Mahayana, it is the no-self of phenomena, that is, because of impurity, impermanence, suffering, and emptiness, it is known that it is only an appearance, and there is no permanent stability. The body has never been from the beginning.

If one only focuses on accomplishment, one will remain in a state where nothing appears in the mind. Therefore, for each and every visualization yoga, even if one first meditates by focusing on the body as the basis, one immediately and repeatedly throws the appearance of the body into the non-conceptual state where appearance ceases. This is initially just a clear appearance, and later it tends towards manifestation and is accomplished, just like destroying poison from the root and making it disappear. Although practitioners of the Lesser Vehicle only meditate on selflessness and do not realize that the body is empty from the beginning, they do not focus on the appearance of the ordinary body in their transcendental equipoise. Thus, the body is a symbol to which all dharmas are connected. An example of transforming without abandoning the basis is: through the special blessing of contact with mantras and medicines, etc., the faults of a poisonous tree are eliminated, and it becomes a perfect and excellent medicinal tree with immeasurable qualities. One does not regard the poison as a fault, and there is no need for burning, cutting, etc. The lineage of that tree is not interrupted, and there is no great change in the external form of the branches and leaves. However, by transforming the abilities and functions into something extremely different, there is no need to abandon the basic poisonous tree by burning and cutting. Instead, all abilities and characteristics are transformed through the combination of substances and mantras. Similarly, here, one does not primarily employ the mind of renunciation, complete severance, detachment from seeing faults, and causing appearances to vanish through emptiness, etc., except for a few small limbs of the path that are used out of necessity. Therefore, meditating by focusing on one's own body and visualizing the form of a pure appearance deity, and accomplishing the body as empty form and unchanging bliss during the stage of completion, etc., are similar in appearance to the appearance of the body at the basic stage. In the stage of generation, faces, hands, mudras, immeasurable palaces, etc., are similar in form to the place and body. In the stage of completion, the appearance of the empty form body and pure lands, and bliss being simultaneous with the body, etc. The other half is contrary in form. In the stage of generation, the form of the mandala is contrary to the ordinary form. In the stage of completion, the form of wisdom is contrary to the form of dust particles, and contrary to the form of change.
