Furthermore, various kinds of rituals are also explained in this tantra. However, in the context of the purity of the manner of abiding, there is the round posture, the round wind; the lotus posture, the half-moon shape. Because the purity of water is proclaimed, the wind is round and the water is half-moon shaped, which is not a mistake. In the context of the tantra commentary, wherever it is explained in this way, there is no need to modify it. Regarding the seat of the extremely wrathful mother, the Great Commentary Ra-gyur says, "On top of the wheel is Vairochana of the crow-faced mother." The A-zha-gyur also says, "On top of the wheel of the crow-faced mother is Vairochana." Thus, from a general perspective, it seems that there is no contradiction. Therefore, many Kalachakra that appeared later in Tibet say that the reason why the lotus of the eight yoginis and others needs to have life is that there is life under the wheel of the extremely wrathful mother, and the wheel is a substitute for the lotus. This statement, the latter reason is not established at all, and according to those two old translations, the former reason is also not established. Moreover, the Dro translation and the Shangpa Jonang translation say, "Similarly, under the wheel of the crow-faced mother is Vairochana." Chami and Yarlungpa and others are also the same, and these are also due to the difference in Sanskrit texts. Some people think that just as yoginis and others also need to place life on the lotus, here also the same can be substituted, so there should be no life under the wheel. To this, some people replied that the lotus petals of the yoginis and others have retinue deities, but the wheel of the extremely wrathful mother does not, which is the difference. When Shey Rinpa and others say that the wheel is a substitute for the lotus, so the lotus and the wheel can be placed above or below, and saying the difference between having or not having retinue is like saying that although pervasion has real faults, the Dharmas are not the same. If you distinguish like this, it is nonsense. Because it has been admitted that the wheel is a substitute for the lotus, if you say that everything that is a substitute must be placed in the same position as the substitute, it is absurd. If your statement is true, then those who have not established similarities and have not admitted that the wheel is a substitute for the lotus. Each deity has a different seat, which is the difference, not the same substitutes for each other.
