Applying numerous purifications to the earth, sun, moon, and Rahu is merely elaborate exposition, so it is left in equipoise here. In reality, the hand itself is the blessing. Engaging in many objects and actions of purification is meaningless. If elaborate explanations were given, the meanings of A, I, Ri, U, etc., would be endless, but it is sufficient to explain only what is relevant at the moment. Third, regarding the placement of the six limbs: Hrih (ཧྲཱིཿ, ह्रीः, hrīḥ, Seed syllable of great compassion) is the indestructible, fierce seed syllable, and therefore becomes the root of the Kalachakra wrathful deity's mantra. Taking that as the life force, above the six vowels, combined with the empty wisdom of the crown of the head, each syllable has a vowel, half-moon, and bindu in the direction of the vowel, which are the three vajras. The consonant Ha (ཧ, ह, ha, Ha) and Ra (ར, र, ra, Ra) stacked together is itself the wisdom vajra. Therefore, some say that explaining it in this order is the same as the explanation of blessing the six places with six armors in the ocean of dakinis, which is the same as the meaning of the six armor heroes, and this is in accordance with reality. That is, the heart, crown of the head, and topknot are in the same position and order. There, in place of the fourth, the shoulders, here is the fifth, the limbs, which is contact with the entire body. The fifth there and the fourth here, the eyes, have the same meaning. The sixth here is actually using the left hand for virtuous actions and the right thumb to strike the cymbals in the ten directions. This is the same as the meaning of placing the eight major joints. Here it is said to be a weapon, because in the explanatory lineages of the vows it says, "Phat Ham (ཕཊ་ཧཾ་, फट् हं, phaṭ haṃ, Phat Hum) is the weapon for all limbs." Therefore, armor is only for protecting oneself, while weapons not only protect oneself but also destroy the opponent's poison, weapons, fire, etc., or similar mantras and evil actions. It is for this purpose that the cymbals are struck outwards. What is to be protected is still one's own body, so it is reasonable to say that the six limbs are placed on the limbs of the body. Like some who appeared later, thinking that the first five are to protect one's own body, but the last one seems to be something to protect externally, therefore saying that protecting the directions cannot be a limb of the body, and sophistically saying that it is a limb of the mantra for accomplishing the main activities, such a deceitful statement is extremely unreasonable. Those who say such things are merely adhering to their own views.

Therefore, there is no need to prevent it. Here, the Great Commentary speaks of two different ways of establishing the six limbs. The usual practice is for protection, which is the intention stated in the Root Tantra. In the commentary, this is written in bold. The other way is stated in the Sadhana: "In the head, neck, heart, navel, secret place, and crown protuberance, establish the limbs of your own vajras. The limbs that abide in the two families, with the doors, during sleep, offering, and intercourse." Here, the word "heart" indicates the navel chakra as hrīḥ (藏文,梵文天城体:ह्रीः,梵文罗马拟音:hrīḥ,汉语字面意思:啥), the word "head" indicates the heart chakra as huṃ (藏文,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:huṃ,汉语字面意思:吽), the word "crown protuberance" indicates the neck chakra as hrīḥ (藏文,梵文天城体:ह्रीः,梵文罗马拟音:hrīḥ,汉语字面意思:啥), the indication of all limbs indicates the head chakra as hriṃ (藏文,无对应梵文,汉语字面意思:啥), the indication of the eyes indicates the crown protuberance chakra as hraṃ (藏文,无对应梵文,汉语字面意思:啥), and the indication of the weapons indicates the secret place chakra as hrāḥ (藏文,梵文天城体:ह्राः,梵文罗马拟音:hrāḥ,汉语字面意思:哈). Thus, the life letters arise in the six chakras, and a method of combining the innate realms is also made. What is said in the Root Tantra about the heart, etc., although directly shown, is only the meaning of direct symbolism. But if combined with the purification of the six inner realms of definitive meaning, it is necessary to be like the latter. If the indication of the heart, etc., in the Root Tantra is explained as having a secret intention, and not as literal, it will be like the latter. Some say that the commentary explains the commentary itself as having a secret intention, and that "the word 'heart' indicates the navel chakra" is explained as the meaning of the navel chakra indicating the heart chakra. Such a reversed statement should be avoided. The heart, etc., mentioned in the Root Tantra, when combined with the navel chakra, etc., mentioned in the Abridged Tantra, the key point of the meaning is the same. However, in the six chakras, the actual mantras of the six families are the six sounds of the six families of method and wisdom, which are said to be the definitive meaning, and are of definitive meaning. Due to necessity, there is no certainty in combining with other various things. This is explained because of "abiding in the two families." For these two, although there is no other meaning of separately establishing intentional and unintentional, direct and definitive, the former is consistent with what comes from other tantras, and the latter is only the meaning of the definitive position of the Kalachakra itself. Therefore, either of the two is permissible. But here, some do both, which is generally redundant, and especially in any one case.
