There are two types. The first has two aspects: the definite order and the individual meanings. The first is that, in general, in order to purify the faults of body, speech, and mind, the face of the vajra is purified, and all the specific lineages included in the ground, path, and fruition of oneself and others are without exception included in the six lineages. In order to bless those as the pervasive wisdom, the six lineages are established, and the pervasive lineages are generally the four vajras, and in particular, they are all gathered into the wisdom vajra itself. All of these are generally the four vajras, and in particular, blessing them as the nature of the wisdom vajra is either blessing with the four vajras or blessing with the supreme mudra. In general, meditating on these can also eliminate obstacles, protect against unfavorable circumstances, and avert them, but since it is not solely for protection, these do not actually become the ritual of the protection wheel. In the very extensive method of the ritual, because the basis for what is to be protected is accomplished, it is applied as a preliminary to the protection wheel. Establishing the six branches, although not actually part of the main ritual of the protection wheel, is in general itself an excellent self-protection ritual, and because a stable self-protection is needed as a preliminary to burning the hordes of demons, it is related to that. In the extensive ritual, because the protection wheel is meditated upon after burning the demons that were previously present, in order to prevent them from entering in the future, burning the hordes of demons is also related to the branch of the main protection wheel, and the order is also best to burn first. Most of the later ones say that those who fled without being burned after being burned are later stabbed with a stake, but things do not need to be burned, and it is not necessary to stab with a stake, but in the practitioner's mind, everything is burned and everything is staked, so the different ways of averting obstacles are meditated on again and again, not that some are burned and some are staked, because if that were necessary, it would become endless. In this regard, the vajra words that explain the protection wheel are as follows: The glorious vajras, all the hordes of demons that dwell in all directions, must be burned. Afterwards...

One should contemplate the assembly of wrathful deities residing in the ten directions and non-directions of the wheel's spokes. In the center of the wheel, Vajra Force, the lord of wrathful deities, possesses the hand gestures of the victorious ones, exceeding two, and the face of Kalachakra. Thereafter, one who possesses certainty in the lama and who desires to accomplish something should practice. Situated on the mandala of the three vajras, the three surrounding walls are at the far-reaching edge. At the edge of the morning shadows, from the ground to the sky, vajras are stacked upon each other. In the center, the measure of the lotus sun disc, the center and cushions, etc., also become the measure of Kalachakra. Above that, the yogi should contemplate himself as being completely free from faults. In the directions of the earth, first, one should offer torma to those who protect the fields with the three vajras. From the outside, with the four vajras, one must burn the assembly of demons residing in the directions and non-directions. Thus it is said in the context of the earth ritual. The glorious Vajra and others, having arranged vajras on their bodies, then demonstrate the burning of demons. From the outside, the wheel and others show the ten wrathful deities of the protection wheel, implicitly explaining what the sixty protectors are. In the center of the wheel, etc., one contemplates Vajra Force, and from that, it is shown to accomplish all actions and siddhis. Here, it is said that one desires a little, to enjoy whatever wheel one desires, and to press grain only for the earth ritual. In the great commentary, because it is necessary at that time, taking the name of desiring a little is mistaken for defining the name. It is not good to condense the vast meaning of the tantra into a small part. The three vajras, etc., are the surrounding walls and pavilions of the protection wheel, as well as the main cushions, etc. The directions of the earth, etc., offering torma, and then the sequential connection of burning demons is also shown. Again, in the tantra, it says, "Having prayed to all of them, drive the pegs of hard and stable acacia wood into the ground. The wrathful deities of the directions, possessing weapons, should be placed in the direction to protect the directions." Thus, in the earth ritual, the ritual of driving pegs is said, because the meaning of its necessity is the same. In the extensive protection wheel, it must be combined, because of the actions of practicing the sixty protectors.
