of wisdom, and does not apply to logical reasoning. If that is the case, what can again be regarded as the ultimate truth, so that this mind, covered by sudden defilements, can be completely transformed into the wisdom of the Buddha by virtue of its unchanging essential power? The power of this wisdom is inconceivable, let alone investigate it. So it is said. Second, the method of removing obstacles is shown in general terms, which has three aspects: showing the nature of obstacles, explaining the characteristics of dual purity, and explaining that the method of obtaining it is achieved through each self-awareness. The first point is: there is no sudden defilement in the heart, it is not a longer time than the heart, it will not arise without the heart, it is not in the heart that it exists forever. This is a commitment made in a brief statement. The detailed explanation is as follows: If this itself is sudden, then the previous mind is immaculate. If it exists longer than the heart, then from what does it arise? If it arises without mind, it is like a flower in the sky. If it always exists in the heart, then there is no liberation at all. So it is said. The characteristic or characteristic of the obstacle is the fault of the mind, that is, it also arises when the mind is just produced, and it is neither one nor different from the mind, and when it exists, the mind seems to be mixed with it, but because its nature is contradictory, it is a separable sudden thing. Therefore, dirt, that is, obstacles, is sudden because it is produced later. If you think that the mind is originally immaculate, then it is impossible for the mind to be originally immaculate, and then the sudden dirt will be produced. If this itself is a sudden thing that is produced later, then the previous mind is immaculate, that is, purified by dirt, and things that are purified by dirt should not be produced again. If dirt exists longer than the heart, then it is not before the heart. If that is the case, if the heart does not exist, then from what does the dirt arise? It is unreasonable to examine it in this way. Without mind, obstacles will not arise. If obstacles arise without mind, it will lead to arising without cause, in that case, it will also lead to the production of flowers in the sky. The obstacles in the heart are not inexhaustible, that is, the obstacles do not exist in the essence of the heart, nor are they inseparable.

If the obscurations were to abide permanently in the mind by the very nature of the mind, then it would be impossible to attain liberation at any time, since the mind would not be exhausted and neither would they. And if they were exhausted, the mind would also be exhausted, since there would be no one to attain liberation. Secondly, if you ask: How then are adventitious stains removed from the mind of intrinsic nature? The answer is: Just as the stains of copper are removed by the application of elixirs, the very existence of the copper does not disappear, but remains perfectly in its stainless state. Likewise, the stains of the mind are completely removed by the application of emptiness, but the very wisdom of the mind does not disappear, but remains perfectly in its stainless state. Just as iron that has been penetrated by an essence does not follow after the iron itself, so the mind that has been penetrated by bliss does not follow after suffering itself. So it is said. Just as the mere existence of the essence of copper and the stains of copper, the unstable aspects that appear ugly and rough, arise simultaneously, and although they seem inseparable, the mere existence of the substance of copper does not abide in the nature of the copper's roughness and ugliness. By the application of a great elixir that transforms it into gold, the part of the copper's stain that is ugly in color, rough, and destructible by burning and cutting, is destroyed. But the very existence of the copper does not disappear, for in the same amount as the copper's original mass, it exists in the nature of gold itself, which is stainless, bright in color, soft, and indestructible by burning and cutting. At that time, the very existence of the copper's nature is primordially pure, and the stains of innate ugliness, etc., are completely removed, so it is an example of possessing twofold purity. Similarly, in the time of samsara, although the mind and obscurations appear inseparable, the mind does not exist in the nature of obscurations. The stains of the mind are also completely removed by the application of emptiness with objective reference, the great seal. The very nature of that mind, wisdom itself, never disappears, and since it has not been stained by stains from the beginning, and since it destroys the adventitious and does not arise later, it abides perfectly in its stainless state, possessing twofold purity. This meaning is in the Great Vehicle, the Uttaratantra...
