Do not create obstacles to the land, do not covet profits and accumulate wealth, do not like to argue and stir up trouble, do not expose your own shortcomings, do not dig up the faults of friends, do not be talkative and invite many enemies, do not be mindless and partial, do not covet the property of the Three Jewels, do not eat the lama's property, do not covet the property of others, whatever you do, be in accordance with the Dharma, examine yourself. Instructions for Meditators Om Svasti. (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་སྭཱ་སྟི།, Sanskrit Devanagari: ॐ स्वस्ति, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: oṃ svasti, Literal Chinese meaning: Om, auspicious!) Doing business for enjoyment is not allowed for us monks. When the Guru becomes a Buddha, it is said that he will appear in an impure retinue. Now, apart from doing good deeds, please do not do business of trading grain. Temporarily having small desires and being content, when will one be able to reach a pure retinue? Because there is such a choice, please make a pure retinue. If you create obstacles to the sacred Dharma, parents, siblings, friends, benefactors, etc., whoever it may be, will become a demon. Please abandon worldly relationships. Compassion and attachment are the same in essence, there are errors on the path of Samsara and Nirvana. Except for what is in accordance with the Dharma, do not like to maintain human favor. When you stay abiding in your own Dharma, everyone will respect you. Please abandon actions that violate the Dharma. This birth after birth is truly painful, until you have directly seen the unborn, it is very important to meditate single-mindedly. You must cut off the root of the mind. When engaging in virtuous deeds, those who say "Ha He He" nonsense are evil demons who destroy virtuous deeds. Please do not associate with them. When you are practicing your own practice, making feasts of tea and alcohol is like the pleasure of scratching an itch, is this not a deception of the devil? For the death that will surely come, the sacred Dharma is inevitable. The actions of this life are meaningless, the merit of the next life is very important. If you have not realized your own mind as Dharmakaya, then the eight great siddhis are also just false deceptions. Subjugation and fierce actions, as well as visible and audible bathing rituals, etc., will become demons for practitioners. Except for what is certain to benefit beings, please do not like village rituals. Whatever happiness or suffering arises, and whatever mental appearances arise, do not cling to the experience, please practice. Dear, dear

In the midst of quarrelsome gatherings, Weaving tales of attachment and hatred, Disturbing the minds of kind lamas, Cutting off the virtuous deeds of oneself and others, Please do not delight in contention. For practitioners who engage in practice, There should be no distinction between enemies and friends, near and far, Unite harmoniously as a troop, Do not be demons who destroy the Dharma. One should not disturb solitude and community. Speaking of the faults of lamas and sangha, Is like selling oneself. Reviling patrons, Will cause people everywhere to lose faith. Speaking harshly to evil people, One loses one's own footing and becomes subject to others. Without losing the Dharma's foundation and essence, Please maintain appropriate conduct. Since it is the root of accomplishment, Maintain unwavering devotion to the lama. For the sake of sharpening the edge of blessings, Strive in the visualization and recitation of the yidam. Since there is a need to protect the Dharma, Please diligently recite the mantras of the Dharma protectors. Immediate conduct should be pure, Ultimate appearance should be pure, The relationship between Dharma brothers should be harmonious, Do not be simple-minded and overly thoughtful, This is crucial for all meditators. Mangalam! Advice to Maitri Dharma Bhuti. In general, do not change your mind from the heart, Because the mind and the sacred Dharma are not mixed, No matter how much arrogance and self-righteousness you do, It will not leave good traces. Disparaging others and giving rise to self-importance, Jealousy and lies, attachment and hatred increase. Complaining and blaming lamas and Dharma brothers, Giving rise to greed and arrogance. This is a sign of being carried away by obstacles. Arrogance is thinking oneself clever and capable. The mindstream becomes rigid and stubborn, As a result, impurity and defilement will constantly arise. Even the abbot who used to be at the forefront, Will eventually be trampled under the feet of all mediocrities. If you do not concentrate when it is important, It is difficult to correct even one mistake. In general, this evil conduct that contradicts the Dharma, Is a stepping stone to hell after death. In this life, too, one is unsociable like a mad dog, A stumbling block to lamas and the Dharma. Now do not repeat the same mistakes, Engrave it in your heart. You must transform bone into Dharma. Even if a wealthy monk appears, Just seeing him will make you feel nauseous. Just hearing about him will make you feel disgusted. If one appears, he should be someone who has perfected view, practice, and fruition.
