Ah! I also remember my grandfather saying that this child seemed to be the reincarnation of a Vajra Master. Sometimes, when I saw animals that looked like they were lost, great compassion arose, and tears would involuntarily fall. I would think that I must protect the animals in this valley. Even if I protect these, there are valleys and animals beyond. And beyond that too, and so on. Such thoughts would arise endlessly, and I would think, even if I protect one, what about the others? I would always feel helpless. Also, once, some renunciates were begging at the door. After that, they seemed to be meditating with bodily postures in my father's field, and I felt great wonder and admiration in my heart. I often thought, if only I could become like that. Also, when I saw some realized yogis from Montsewa controlling their breath and doing Trulkhor (Tsa Lung practices), I also wanted to become like them. Now it seems that what they were doing was probably the essence of all religious forms, but my mind has changed. When I saw the monks building the Kunrig (Skt: कुनृिक्, kunrik, All-Knowing One) mandala and making offerings, I also felt very happy and managed to sit in the row during the ceremony. Once, the mantra practitioner from Khara or Phuwa, named Chöje Yönten Gyamba, seemed to be handling affairs in front of my grandfather Rinpoche. He seemed to be having many discussions about direct perception. I also thought that I had done many such things. Also, once when I was on the roof, some birds were making many sounds, and in the sounds of the birds, they were calling me by my name, "Nephew, exorcist," and talking about the happiness and suffering of people from different places. Such things happened several times. At that time, I was in a state between sleep and wakefulness, and my dreams were very clear. The signs of each villager's illnesses, deaths, and so on were clearly appearing. Sometimes, I would also directly see some non-human behaviors. Later, since I went to the Dzong (fortress) and estates of the Dzongpön (governor), all those clear visions disappeared. Also, once, when I saw some Acharyas begging for food at the door on the roadside, I felt immeasurable joy, and I thought that they were from places like Gaya in India.

The place was noisy and bustling. It was said: From the power of past habits, all virtuous dharmas arise. This gathering of excellent qualities, without any incompleteness, constantly arises, solely due to the power and glory of past virtues. Thus, from the time I could speak until I reached the age of four, in terms of speech, I was Lama Kunga Drolchok. There was someone called Attendant Peljor who said he had gone to the Batsang family in Lower Ngorong. When others asked him in jest or with playful questions, he would repeatedly say this. It is said that this continued to happen. There were absolutely no teachers or instructors of that kind who came, I can vouch for that myself. My parents and the villagers, let alone seeing the face of Jetsun Kunga Drolchok, had not even heard his name. At first, I just spoke spontaneously, but later some abbots of Ganden Gangpa said that that venerable one was the lama of all of U-Tsang. At that time, because I was the only son, they forbade me from saying such things to us. But because I was a child, I still spoke as before. At that time, there was someone called Chöwang Zangpo who often came to the residence. His uncle had faith in the venerable lama, and he told him about this. That person seemed to be a local official scribe, and afterwards he went to Yarok to report to the great chieftain Tenzin Migyur Wangyi Gyalpo. The local official himself also said that he had a particularly good dream. Immediately, he bestowed elaborate clothing and other things. After that, the local official Tenzin Drung, starting from Khenchen Rinpoche and Gyantse, up to Shabdrung Tobgye Drung, also reported the situation to the patrons and great disciples of the venerable one. In particular, Dharma Lord Rigzinpa was specially sent. He had a bird feather headdress given to him by the venerable one. In addition, many empowerment implements were borrowed from Gongkar Chöde and other places, and they came to the door of Drangphuk Residence. I saw them from upstairs and said: Dharma Lord Rigzinpa has arrived. Dharma Lord quietly entered the house. They laid out all the empowerment implements and showed them to us. I took the yellow feather headdress and said it was mine, etc.
