I have never followed mere reputation superficially. I do not readily trust written words. Because to avoid being misled by contradictions, one must have conclusive evidence, I have never engaged in hypocritical double-dealing with views, meditations, sects, and practices that require one's own trust. When it is necessary to recite oral transmissions separately, I recite them independently. How could I have faith in flawed individuals, problematic views and behaviors, and adulterated goods and Dharma? I have never harbored hatred either. I know it is a flaw. For example, even though I know that an unclean cesspool is extremely filthy, I do not get angry and clench my lips as if swallowing the syllable "ཨཾ་" (oṃ). Furthermore, I am always cultivating joy in all the virtues of those things in which faults and virtues are mixed. As for the notion that faults are also virtues, that mindless, empty-headed pure vision, I have long discarded it. There is no need to mention Padmasambhava and other past saints. Later, I have respect for those great individuals who practice the Dharma according to the separate Sakya, Gelug, and Kagyu schools, as well as the Jonang, Shalu, and Buton schools, and for all the philosophical systems explained with reason. I am one who refutes those who contradict the Dharma and engage in slander. Among those known as saints in the Han and Tibetan regions, this and this are reliable, so I will follow them; this and this are wrong, so I will prevent them. These are mixed, with good mixed with bad, bad mixed with good, and some that are half good and half bad. I know that this person speaks correctly, and that person speaks incorrectly. I do not imitate others, but act with my own strength, and I also have some wisdom. Some views I have abandoned with arrogance, and I am somewhat different from those who lack wisdom and are indecisive. I distinguish between what is reasonable and unreasonable, and then I speak. Because I have not engaged in debates with those who are skilled with words, old decaying wood, and extremely foolish people, those kinds of groups seem to be jealous of me and speak ill of me. There are also many among the officials and servants of the monastery who repeat these words, and the officials and servants may think, "These people hate us in this way, surely we are also hating them," and they are worried that I will be unhappy, but I do not care about them.

There is not even a little. There is absolutely no appearance of existence. Even at this time, although there seems to be a vague suspicion that Ra Lungpa has bad thoughts towards me, there is no need for that. Depa Tsang himself, starting from Kunpang Drung, opposed Ra Lungpa because of his attachment to Kar, which is clear to everyone. I have never met Ra Lungpa. He may consider me an enemy later, but there is no other reason. It is just the thought that Depa himself performed rituals for dispelling obstacles and protection. This is better than him stretching out his reckless foot towards me. Also, this kind of monk becoming an enemy is completely different from the grudges of ordinary people. Therefore, it is necessary to have a certain amount of caution and grasp the limits so as not to harm oneself. It is like the example of the monks of Nyangchu Monastery quarreling. Previously, Ra Lungpa and the previous Depa were not at odds, and I have never said a word to instigate discord or harm Ra Lungpa. Rather, it was those original sinful Kalon officials who instigated discord up and down themselves. Perhaps they did good deeds for Ra Lung and others, but blamed me for instigating discord. Does this Depa also have such a deeply rooted bad impression in his heart? That's what they were saying at the time. In addition, at this time, going to Gongkar (Gongkar Chode Monastery) and other places, as well as going to Lhasa to pay homage to Jowo (Shakyamuni Buddha statue), and going to the Kashag and other places, he intended to go to U-Tsang in winter. After divination, it was decided whether or not he could go. The result of the divination was that he could go, and it showed that there were auspicious aspects such as eliminating obstacles. I reported the results of the divination to him. He seemed to be leaving in a few days. He also specially instructed the four classes of protectors, and called people from Takten. After that, when I came back, his body had recovered a lot. I thought he probably wouldn't go. He had not yet decided whether to leave temporarily. After that, someone came from Gyantse Tobdal, and because of the loans from Lhorong and the problems with the astrologer, he gave me a document saying that the trip to U-Tsang had been cancelled. If he could have gone that year, there would have been many opportunities to eliminate obstacles and have auspicious connections, but in the end it did not happen. Regarding the cancellation of the trip to U-Tsang.
