O! These are the answers of those who claim to be wise. The fallacies of fools are endless, so I will not elaborate here. Dharmakīrti said, "The answers to fallacies are endless, these will not be elaborated here." Therefore, the meaning of being ignorant of the ultimate truth is: Although many people think that merely nothing being established is ultimate, that is not the ultimate truth. It is called nominal ultimate, and it has the same meaning as conventional truth. As the Treatise on Two Truths says, "The negation of arising, etc., is in accordance with the ultimate and the real." And the Commentary on Mind says, "The conventional is explained as emptiness, emptiness alone is conventional." The Perfection of Wisdom Sutra says, "Form is emptiness, emptiness is form." The meaning is also the same, because all conventional dharmas appear while being empty, and are empty while appearing. The meaning of appearing while being empty is that it is empty of being as true as it appears. The meaning of being empty while appearing is that although it is empty of being truly established, it merely exists as an appearance. The Ornament of the Sutras also says, "Such two appearances exist in it, its nature is non-existent." Thus it is clarified. In short, because of ignorance of the fundamental two truths, they slander that there is no Tathāgatagarbha of ultimate truth. Therefore, because of ignorance of the two accumulations of the path, they abandon the objects of wisdom accumulation that should be known individually by oneself. Therefore, because of ignorance of the union of the two kāyas of the result, they slander that there is no ultimate dharmakāya that is permanent. Therefore, the final teachings of the Buddha that teach permanence, as well as the tantras, the latter three of the Five Treatises of Maitreya, the collections of praises to Madhyamaka, the treatises of Asaṅga, etc., are successively slandered as being provisional, not definitive, not Madhyamaka but Cittamātra. Therefore, for those special individuals who consider these to be definitive, they falsely accuse them, calling them Cittamātrins, eternalists, and Sāṃkhyas. Therefore, they accumulate the karma of abandoning the Dharma, which is heavier than the five heinous crimes. The Protector Maitreya said that the karma of abandoning the Dharma is heavier than the five heinous crimes, because if someone repeatedly associates with bad friends, thereby harboring malice towards the Buddha, killing one's father, mother, or arhat, these things that should not be done,

Oh, you who cultivate the land! If you truly contemplate the nature of reality, you will quickly be liberated from it. How can those whose minds hate the Dharma ever find liberation? Thus it is said. The key is whether or not you understand the Dharma. If you don't understand it from the beginning, nothing you do will go smoothly, and you will encounter obstacles in everything you do. If you understand the Dharma from the beginning, everything you do will go smoothly, and there will be no problems with anything you do, and your mind will feel peaceful and at ease. In this precious time of having obtained a human body with leisure and opportunity, please study the sutras and tantras in detail. At times, also practice meditating in a state of non-conceptual samadhi. At that time, whatever benefits sentient beings is the essence of the Mahayana Dharma, so please act accordingly. I, the one making this request, also make the same aspiration. May it be accomplished as wished! Here it is said: Those with intelligence are skilled in knowing what to accept and reject. Those who accumulate merit are devoted to the profound Dharma. Those with sharp faculties follow the Dharma. Those with good fortune realize it, not otherwise. The Faults of Not Knowing the Distinction Between the Two Truths. Furthermore, when some people think that the sutras and treatises contradict each other, they say that the treatises are commentaries, so they have more authority. However, the treatises of the unerring Six Ornaments and Two Supremes do not contradict the sutras in the slightest. Other than those, if the treatises agree with the sutras, they should be accepted; if they disagree, they should be rejected. As it says in the chapter on the Emanation of Manjushri, the noble Manjushri said, "After speaking of thirty good things and thirty bad things, son of the gods, to the extent that it contradicts the teachings of the Tathagata, all of that is not good. To the extent that it agrees with the teachings of the Tathagata, all of that is good." Vasubandhu, the second omniscient one, also said, "Contradicting the treatises is not contradicting the words of the Buddha, it is not so." Furthermore, the faults of not believing in the Sugata-garbha are said to be limitless. For example, in the Sutra Benefiting the Garland of Fingers, which is as rare as the Udumbara flower, it says, "Those sentient beings who do not believe in the Tathagata-garbha have in the past become wealthy, and have also become pigeons, crows, ugly monkeys, those born in sandy places, and lowly thieves."
