The nature of generosity, purifying the stain of stinginess. At the end of the dhāraṇī mantra, (recite) to purify all the sins and habitual tendencies of being born in the preta realm: śāntiṃ kuru svāhā (Sanskrit transliteration: śāntiṃ kuru svāhā, literal meaning: peace, do, svāhā). Third, purifying the animal realm has three parts. First, when reciting 'Oṃ surata stvaṃ,' join the palms; when reciting 'Vajra añjali hoḥ,' cross the fingers; when reciting 'Vajra bandha vaṃ,' form the mudrā, visualizing the union of the five Buddha families, father and mother. Homage to the Three Jewels! By the command and truth of the Three Jewels, the truth of the purity of dharmatā, the truth of the infallibility of cause and effect of dharmas, the truth of the assembly of deities who play in peace and wrathful illusion, the truth of the emanations and re-emanations of the deities, by the blessing of the great truth, all the sins accumulated from the gate of affliction and ignorance, tiryakā śuddhe cakṣu praveśaya phaṭ (Sanskrit transliteration: tiryakā śuddhe cakṣu praveśaya phaṭ, literal meaning: animal, pure, eye, enter, phaṭ). After reciting, snap the fingers, and from the heart of the guru and the union of the five Buddha families, light radiates, purifying the seeds and habitual tendencies of being born as an animal. Third, bathing and purifying with the water of bodhicitta has three parts. First is the confession of regret: Alas, Kyehu Vajradhara! Protector of beings, protect me with compassion! Because of your own faults and the faults of your companions, you have fallen into the animal realm. To save you, I will bestow the supreme empowerment. Third, performing the bath: Hūṃ! In the palace of the auspicious vase, reside the three roots, the assembly of peaceful and wrathful deities. The water is the nature of wisdom, purifying the stain of ignorance.
