Specifically, the methods for eliminating obstacles such as dullness and agitation that arise in meditation are: Although the three experiences of dullness, agitation, and the intermediate state are not established in essence, when they appear as an uninterrupted illusion, if dullness arises, massage the chakras of the body, cast your gaze into the sky, and maintain clarity and focus; if agitation arises, relax the body and focus awareness on the navel, allowing the state of bliss, clarity, and non-thought to flow naturally without attachment; if a coarse experience arises, practice self-liberation of non-reality; for experiences of the intermediate state, do not affirm or deny, but remain neutral; know that everything is the one nature of mind, therefore, without accepting or rejecting, maintain the state of awareness. Regarding common devotion, compassion, and wisdom, no matter how much you practice, if there is no effect and darkness such as laziness, arrogance, jealousy, and ignorance arise, it is usually due to breaking vows. Therefore, confess the mistakes you have made and restrain yourself from the bottom of your heart from now on; do not associate with those who break vows, do not eat the food of those who break vows, do not stay in places where vows are broken, and keep the three doors of body, speech, and mind calm. In particular, the ritual for confessing and making amends for vows is: arrange the mandala of the guru, yidam, or dakini, display offerings, inspire their intention through clear and stable meditation and recitation, invite the assembly of the Tsok, prostrate respectfully, practice the visualization and recitation of Vajrasattva (Tibetan: རྡོ་རྗེ་སེམས་དཔའ, Sanskrit Devanagari: वज्रसत्त्व, Sanskrit Romanization: Vajrasattva, Chinese literal meaning: Diamond Hero), confess frankly, recite the secret mantra aloud, remain in the state of view, confess common faults, and please them by offering enjoyments, medicine, blood, torma, lamps, and the profound Tsok of union (male-female union), so that the actions and faults of the three doors of body, speech, and mind are all pacified, and the wisdom of the four vajras is revealed. In addition, show unbearable devotion, generate impartial compassion and bodhicitta, seek the key secret of meaning with profound wisdom, repeatedly observe through the view, and distinguish good from bad through behavior, so that the bias of the two truths and major obstacles are naturally liberated, and the merits of the path naturally appear without effort. Then, there are the outer, inner, and secret methods of enhancing the effect: no matter what external circumstances arise, transform them into aids to enlightenment by applying the path. Practice patience and generate compassion towards enemies, practice non-reality and cut off attachment towards friends, maintain good karmic connections with those in between, regard everything as illusory and impermanent mundane phenomena, and resolutely cut off unnecessary cravings no matter what, hold the key of giving and receiving to deal with circumstances of happiness and suffering, be content with what you have, and continuously maintain inner peace. For the ultimate truth, all phenomena of appearances, sounds, and thoughts abide in the state of no self-nature and no reality. In the post-meditation state, use the eight similes of dreams and illusions, and apply the accumulated great merit to the path without attachment. All phenomena of samsara are impure dependent origination, and nirvana is only pure dependent origination. Therefore, all appearances of the path are appearances of good causes and conditions and dependent origination. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
