In between, one's own body does not truly exist, so it is emptiness. The consciousness that grasps within does not exist either, so it is emptiness. Therefore, if one examines everything, there is no substance, so one is introduced to emptiness. Thus, saying that everything is emptiness is not a nihilistic emptiness arising from the absence of substance, but rather a self-luminous nature, with awareness existing without obstruction. The mind is not the mind, but the self-luminous nature of the mind. One is introduced to luminous emptiness like the sky. In this way, when one realizes that all appearances are without inherent existence, meditation is brought to completion. Introducing that very state as the Sambhogakaya (Enjoyment Body): However self-appearances arise, know that they are without substance and are primordially empty. While being empty, they are enjoyed without obstruction, so it is the Sambhogakaya of skillful display. When that skill is perfected, one ultimately attains the perfect Sambhogakaya, free from outflows. Third, introducing the union of appearance and emptiness also has two aspects: training skill through conduct and introducing the Dharmakaya (Truth Body). The first is: If the mind is not liberated into the non-duality of appearance and emptiness, even if one meditates knowing emptiness, one will be attached to emptiness. Like the Shravakas (Hearers) who meditate on emptiness by blocking appearances, they become holders of one side, and emptiness becomes something substantial, unable to be liberated into the non-dual Dharmakaya. Therefore, without holding onto emptiness with the thought 'it is emptiness,' one trains skill in the state of the union of appearance and emptiness. Just as day and night occur on the earth, but in the sky, sunlight and darkness are inseparable, the mind's grasping of emptiness quickly dissolves, so that one realizes that appearance and emptiness are inseparable even for a moment. The inseparability of space and awareness is liberated as co-emergent. Like snow falling into the ocean, the arising and liberation of thoughts are simultaneous. Just as the moon in the water cannot be divided into appearance and emptiness, appearance and emptiness are merely labeled with names, but in reality, they are non-dual, self-arising, and self-liberating, introduced as the great liberation. That is not newly liberated through fabrication, but from the moment of appearance, it is naturally empty, so appearance is self-liberated. From the moment of emptiness, it is naturally appearance, so emptiness is self-liberated. Recognize that everything is unmade, naturally arising, naturally liberated as the great wisdom Dharmakaya, and from the state of experience and realization established through previous meditation, spontaneously engage in conduct, because there is no separate conduct to be done, so it is called self-liberation. If the mind is not liberated into the state of the oneness of appearance and emptiness, no matter what Dharma is practiced, one cannot attain Buddhahood. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Therefore, one cannot obtain right view and goes astray on the wrong path. It is said that the difference between the Śrāvakayāna (Hearer Vehicle) and the Mahāyāna (Great Vehicle) lies in whether the mind and consciousness are mixed or not. Even if one meditates in this way, due to the strong habitual tendencies of past attachments, sometimes appearances and fixations arise spontaneously. If this happens, one should leave them as they are, like a snake's knot that unravels on its own. If it does not unravel and conceptual fixations remain, it is called 'extracting the thorn from the wound,' or 'reverse suppression.' Just as one uses good to counter evil, or desire to counter hatred, when an object appears, one should bring to mind something opposite to it. Because the nature of the mind is one, the previous appearance will lose its support. If there were two minds, then two thoughts would have to exist simultaneously. If one thinks of happiness, there would be no unhappiness; if one thinks of unhappiness, the thought of happiness would vanish. Therefore, do not cling to the artificial meditation of seeing appearance and emptiness as separate, but be certain that appearance and emptiness are both the nature of one's own mind. Once self-arising is self-liberated, emptiness is liberated with decisive certainty. The second part is: Emptiness without attachment to appearances; clear and luminous without attachment to emptiness. Knowing that Dharmadhātu (the realm of reality) and Rigpa (awareness) are non-dual is the supreme path. When the attachment to Jñeya (the knowable) is purified, one ultimately attains Dharmatā (the nature of reality) equality, becoming a Buddha in the unchanging Dharmakāya (body of truth), with Jñāna (wisdom) arising without effort or conceptualization. The fourth part is directly introducing this as the spontaneously accomplished fruit, the Buddha: Even if appearance and emptiness are naturally liberated in non-duality, if the fruit is not established as uncreated, naturally arising, and spontaneously accomplished, then the five Jñānas (wisdoms) and so on are merely experiences. Therefore, by practicing on the basis of what was previously realized, since there is no distinction between what is to be accomplished and the means of accomplishing it, when the practice reaches its culmination, the grasping subject and the grasped object transcend dualistic thought, and nothing is established as a fixed entity. The subtle obscurations of latent habitual tendencies of the Jñeya (knowable) are also naturally purified, and in ungrasping, uncreated, spontaneously accomplished state, Dharmadhātu (the realm of reality) and Rigpa (awareness) are non-dual, the Dharmatā (nature of reality) mother and child merge as one, the clinging to emptiness while abiding in Samādhi (meditative absorption) does not arise, the active thoughts of Prsthalabdha-jñana (subsequent wisdom) do not appear, one does not fixate on the characteristics of existence, the nature of non-existence is not clear, it is neither existent nor non-existent, transcending the mind of existence and non-existence, not falling into any extreme, without limitation, without clarity or obscurity, without change or alteration, so no matter what one does, one cannot do other than that, inseparable from what is beyond meditation, like going to the precious golden island, everything is clearly the same nature, in a state of ungrasping awareness. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
