After inviting offerings that gather like clouds and playing music, the master says: 'Oh, son of noble family! Relax for a moment, let your awareness rest naturally, without modification or disturbance. Let awareness be in a state of ease, clarity, and non-thought wisdom, like a soft, light, and relaxed state. Like the center of a clear autumn sky, free from all fabrication. This is the co-emergent innate wisdom, the Great Perfection of self-nature, the state of suchness, be sure to recognize it!' After saying this, have the students stand up and look at the sky in the four directions in turn, and the master will say: 'Emaho! Emaho! Son of noble family! Turn your gaze to the eastern sky. Meditate on traveling freely without obstruction in the eastern space.' 'Emaho! Emaho! Son of noble family! Turn your gaze to the southern sky. Meditate on traveling freely without obstruction in the southern space.' 'Emaho! Emaho! Son of noble family! Turn your gaze to the western sky. Meditate on traveling freely without obstruction in the western space.' 'Emaho! Emaho! Son of noble family! Turn your gaze to the northern sky. Meditate on traveling freely without obstruction in the northern space.' 'If you think of going, there is no goer; if you think of going somewhere, there is nowhere to arrive; the thought of going is your own mind; the mind is boundless and empty.' After saying this, he says again: 'Emaho! Son of noble family! Where did your mind first come from? Look at what causes and conditions it came from.' If the student cannot find the answer, the master will say again: 'Emaho! Son of noble family, listen! In the nature of this rootless mind, there is no object that has not been born from the beginning. It has no color, no shape, and cannot be identified. It has nowhere to come from and nowhere to go. It does not abide in the present and has no causes or conditions. This is the state of mind, know it to be inexpressible.' After saying this, explain the meaning. Then, have the students visualize the forms of the five Buddhas in the center of the sky, and the master will say: 'Emaho! Son of noble family! Look at these forms of the victorious ones. They appear in many ornaments and attire. However, clinging to these appearances is your own mind. Look at it, it has no basis. Similarly, the forms that appear in the realm of the mind, the realm itself is clear and empty. This is the clear and empty Dharmakaya.' After saying this, string a rosary of bells on a long stick, strike the base of the stick on the ground, and say: 'Emaho! Son of noble family! Is this sound pleasant or unpleasant? Listen carefully and look at its essence. Clinging to the sound is your own mind. The mind is sound-emptiness, which is the Dharmakaya.' --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Then look at that which is without foundation. Likewise, all that appears as sound, though heard in various ways, is empty in essence. Though clearly audible, it is empty of inherent existence. When it arises, it is without foundation or root. Its essence cannot be grasped. This is the activity of appearance and emptiness. Again, have them smell the fragrance of incense and medicine, and say: 'Alas, son of noble family! When you experience pleasant fragrances like incense and medicine, as well as unpleasant odors, and feelings of liking and disliking arise, look inward at your own mind. From where does it come, and where does it go? What is its essence like? Look at the essence of the mind that accepts and rejects. That is the awareness that arises from conditions. Dualistic awareness is temporary. It appears due to conditions, but its essence is empty.' Having said that, have them taste sweet and sour flavors, and say: 'Alas, son of noble family! Experience the best flavors of food and drink. Sweet, sour, salty, spicy, bitter, and astringent—observe the one who experiences the six tastes. By observing, it cannot be found; it is unborn. Realize it as the dharmakaya (法身) that is without extremes, the Middle Way, free from elaboration, and self-liberated.' Again, removing the garment from the shoulder, have them touch and experience the smoothness and roughness of touch, and then say: 'Alas, son of noble family! Whatever dualistic clinging arises in your mind when you experience touch, whether it is acceptance or rejection, know that although the appearance is clear, its inherent nature is empty. Understand it in your own mind. The mind is the state of empty and luminous dharmakaya, without root from the beginning.' Having said that, again, contemplate happiness and suffering, joy and sorrow, attachment and aversion, and so forth. Then say: 'Alas, son of noble family! Look inward at your own mind. Whatever appears as happiness, suffering, acceptance, or rejection, look inward at the mind that perceives. Joy and sorrow arise from the mind. Whatever happiness or suffering arises, it is clear, but its essence is awareness and emptiness, like a reflection of the moon in water.' Again, allow the five poisons and three poisons to arise in the mind, and then say: 'Alas, son of noble family! Whatever five poisons or three poisons arise, like reflections in a mirror, they appear in the mind but cannot be grasped. The afflictions are without root or foundation. They have no color or shape and cannot be grasped. From the beginning, they are unborn, which is the dharmakaya. The nature of afflictive thoughts arises from the mind and dissolves into the mind. Arising and liberation are simultaneous, like waves. All gross and subtle thoughts subside in their own place without clinging. Thus, if you realize that inherent existence is unestablished, and understand the true nature of afflictive thoughts, you will be liberated without the need to abandon or adopt antidotes.' Thus, he introduced it. Third, the subsequent activity: the lama said, 'Ema! Fortunate one.' --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
