Recite: 'oṃ siddhi phala hūṃ āḥ'. ‘O son of lineage, in order to stabilize all the empowerments you have received, just by bestowing this vase empowerment, all containers and contents become the nature of deities and palaces. All your aggregates, elements, and sense bases become deities and goddesses. Therefore, if you despise anything internal or external, you will fall, so maintain pure perception and devotion. Be pleased with and recognize offerings and praises.’ Thus saying. By drinking the vase water, contemplate the arising of uncontaminated wisdom, and bathe with the remaining water. Then, the symbolic empowerment: showing the five Buddha families. ‘Son of lineage, just by showing you these forms of the five families, you have awakened into the essence of the five wisdoms.’ That is, Vajrasattva appearing in white color, this is a symbol that there is no affliction of hatred, and the mirror-like wisdom has white light. Amitābha appearing in red color, this is a symbol that the intention of all Buddhas' speech is gathered, there is no affliction of attachment, and the discriminating wisdom has red light. Vairocana appearing in dark blue color, this is a symbol that the intention of all Buddhas' mind is gathered, there is no affliction of ignorance, and the Dharmadhatu wisdom has dark blue light. Ratnasambhava appearing in yellow color, this is a symbol that the intention of all Buddhas' qualities is gathered, there is no affliction of pride, and the equality wisdom has yellow light. Amoghasiddhi appearing in green color, this is a symbol that the intention of all Buddhas' actions is gathered, there is no affliction of jealousy, and the accomplishing wisdom has green light. The perfection of each quality also symbolizes overwhelming all samsara and being unstained by faults. All feet are seated in the vajra posture, which symbolizes not being moved by all the armies of demons and being perfectly enlightened. Adorned with all precious jewels is a symbol that all needs and desires arise spontaneously and the three kayas are inseparable. That is, Vajrasattva's hand implements are the vajra and the bell with a vajra handle, which is a symbol that clarity and emptiness are inseparable. Amitābha's hand implements are the lotus and the bell with a lotus handle, which is a symbol that bliss and emptiness are inseparable. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is the symbol of non-duality. The hand implements of Vairochana (meaning 'He who shines everywhere') are the wheel (chakra) and the bell (ghanta) with it as a handle, which also symbolizes the non-duality of awareness (rigpa) and emptiness (tongpa). The hand implements of Ratnasambhava (meaning 'Born of Jewel') are the jewel (ratna) and the bell with it as a handle, which also symbolizes the non-duality of appearance (shar) and emptiness. The hand implements of Amoghasiddhi (meaning 'Unfailing Accomplishment') are the sword (raldri) and the bell with it as a handle, which also symbolizes the non-duality of phenomena (nang) and emptiness. The appearance of the Five Buddha Families as Father-Mother also symbolizes the union of skillful means (thabs) and wisdom (shesrab). The appearance of the Eight Bodhisattvas also symbolizes the purification of the collection of the eight consciousnesses (namshe) in their own place. The appearance of the Six Thubpas also symbolizes the purification of the six afflictions (nyonmong) and the completion of the six perfections (paroltu chinpa). The appearance of the Four Gatekeepers also symbolizes benefiting sentient beings with the four immeasurables. That is the explanation. In terms of meaning, all Buddhas of the past, present, and future are invariably included within the Five Buddha Families; from the peak of existence to the depths of hell, all appearances of samsara and nirvana are never separated from or unincluded within the Five Buddha Families, not even by a particle. The Five Wisdoms (yeshe) are also not separate from one's own body and mind, but rather this very body composed of the five elements is the self-display of the Five Buddha Families, Father-Mother, and the Five Wisdoms. From the very beginning, the self-power of wisdom manifests as the five elements: from earth comes flesh, which is Buddha Lochana; from water comes blood, which is Mamaki; from fire comes heat, which is Pandara; from wind comes breath, which is Samaya Tara; from space comes mind, which is Samantabhadri Dharmakaya. Likewise, when the body is formed from the four elements, the five skandhas (phungpo) arise: the skandha of form (zugkyi phungpo) is Vajrasattva (Dorje Sempa), representing the clarity and selflessness of anger, the mirror-like wisdom (melong tabui yeshe); the skandha of perception (dusheskyi phungpo) is Amitabha (Nangwa Thaye), representing the bliss-emptiness of desire, the wisdom of discernment; the skandha of consciousness (namshekyi phungpo) is Vairochana, representing the non-conceptuality of ignorance, the wisdom of the Dharmadhatu; the skandha of feeling (tsorwai phungpo) is Ratnasambhava, representing the equality of appearance and emptiness of pride, the wisdom of equality; the skandha of volition (dujekyi phungpo) is Amoghasiddhi, representing the awareness-emptiness of jealousy, the wisdom of accomplishment. Furthermore, from the self-power of the single self-aware thigle (rangrig thigle nyagchig), all changes and thoughts arising from compassion do not go beyond the self-power of naturally arising awareness. In short, it can be summarized as the five aggregates of wisdom. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
