‘Practicing this is not a small thing, may the omniscient protector (Kun Khyen Gönpo, omniscient protector, referring to the Buddha) be my witness!’ After praying like this, first tell the origin of the past and the lineage of ghosts: ‘Kye! In the nine regions called the land of ghosts, in the nine-story stacked ghost castle, the first ghost ancestor is the sky ghost Gal and Gelpa, the earth ghost Chama and Chogu. The reason for the emergence of these two is that the ghost named Yama Damsri was born from breaking the oath in the previous life; the ghost woman Ma De lost nine, and was born from wrong views in the previous life. These two became ghosts. The father is a black bird with broken wings in the sky, and the mother is a bat with colorful wings on the ground. These two combined and transformed, giving birth to thirteen living eggs. One of the eggs broke open, and a monster with a human body and a wolf's head was born from it, living on the top of the mountain, devouring males, and named ‘Male Ghost Ralchen’ (Pho Sri Ralchen, male ghost with mane). Another egg broke open, and a monster with a human body and a camel's head was born from it, living at the bottom of the sea, devouring the lives of females, and named ‘Female Ghost Zajed’ (Mo Sri Zajed, devouring female ghost). Another egg broke open, and a monster with a human body and a marmot's head was born from it, living under the bed, devouring young children, and named ‘Small Ghost Pungjed’ (Chung Sri Pungjed, destroying small ghost). Another egg broke open, and a monster with a human body and a garuda's head was born from it, living on the top of the demon mountain, devouring the lives of females, and named ‘Demon Ghost Nagpo’ (Dud Sri Nagpo, black demon ghost). Another egg broke open, and a monster with a human body and an owl's head was born from it, living on the mountain of Tsen (a kind of deity), and named ‘Tsen Ghost Marpo’ (Tsen Sri Marpo, red Tsen ghost). Another egg broke open, and a monster with a human body and a rooster's head was born from it, living in the temple, and named ‘Gyal Ghost Karpo’ (Gyal Sri Karpo, white king ghost). Another egg broke open, and a monster with a human body and a pig's head was born, living at the crossroads, and named ‘Dam Ghost Pungjed’ (Dam Sri Pungjed, oath ghost Pungjed). Another egg broke open, and a monster with a human body and a snake's head was born, living at the bottom of the sea, and named ‘Naga Ghost Ngonpo’ (Lu Sri Ngonpo, blue naga ghost). Another egg broke open, and a monster with a human body and a yak's head was born, living on the enemy's border, and named ‘Enemy Ghost Darma’ (Dgra Sri Darma, enemy ghost Darma). Another egg broke open, and a monster with a human body and a deer's head was born, living on the top of the weapon, and named ‘Knife Ghost Ngenpa’ (Dri Sri Ngenpa, evil knife ghost). Another egg broke open, and a monster with a human body and a fox's head was born, living on the tomb, and named ‘Old Ghost Ralchen’ (Gen Sri Ralchen, old ghost Ralchen). Another egg broke open, and a monster with a human body and a horse's head was born, living on the top of the nine mountains, and named ‘Outgoing Ghost’ (Kyespa’i Jyesri, ghost of leaving home). When a man leaves home, bad news spreads to his hometown, when a stallion leaves home, the ghost that comes back with the saddle. Another egg broke open, and a monster with a human body and a sheep's head was born... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
