The Practice Manual of Tara's Secret Sadhana - The Wish-Fulfilling Jewel Homage to the Supreme Lord, Lotus-Born Vajra Holder (Padmasambhava, the great guru of Tibetan Buddhism) I respectfully bow to the noble Tara, Now I will explain her secret sadhana practice manual, like a wish-fulfilling tree, This is the wish-fulfilling jewel of accomplishment. A person who wishes to practice Tara's secret sadhana should arrange painted or embossed representations of the deity in a place that is pleasing to the mind. In front of it, on a platform, place an eight-petaled lotus mandala, colored red, with a painted vase in the center. Surround it with vajras, fire mountains, etc., using colored powder, paint, or colored rice powder as appropriate. Arrange offerings around it, or in a circular arrangement of water, two sets of preliminary offerings, five offerings, inner offerings, a round torma, or good food in precious vessels. Prepare a conch shell instrument and fragrant water, kusha grass, and preliminary tormas. In addition, gather the necessary items for the tsog offering. In front of oneself, prepare the necessary items such as a vajra, bell, hand drum, and barley grains. Sit on a comfortable cushion and recite: 'I take refuge in the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha until enlightenment.' (Refuge) Recite three times. 'May the venerable noble Tara and retinue become my guide.' (Bodhicitta) Recite the seven-branch prayer. Recite: Om Vajra Amrite Hum Phet (Purification Mantra), visualizing nectar transforming into nectar. Prepare the preliminary torma, purify by reciting: Om Vajra Amrite, purify by reciting Svabhava. Bless by reciting three times: Om Ah Hum. May the gods, nagas, yakshas, rakshasas, and all the hungry ghosts, Take this offering torma and abide here with a peaceful mind. Offer with the mantra A Karo, etc. Above, below, and in all directions, visualize mantra wheels and vidya mantras, Six rays of light and a vajra fence, A blazing fire of wisdom, Completely filling the space with a protective wheel. Recite: Om Tare Vajra Raksha Svaha (Vajra Protection Mantra), visualize the protection wheel. Place: Purify by reciting: Om Vajra Amrite, purify by reciting Svabhava. The place transforms from the Bhrum syllable into a vast, Palace, from the Ah syllable into a lotus vessel, All medicines and tormas, and various offerings, All appear in that form, their essence transforming into nectar.
