With the power of my sincere wishes, may all your desires be fulfilled. May bipeds have well-being and auspiciousness! May quadrupeds have well-being and auspiciousness! May you have a good journey! May your return also be well! May your days be auspicious, and your nights be auspicious! May even the noontime be auspicious! May you always have well-being and auspiciousness day and night! May you be free from sin! May you triumph over all obstacles that are contrary to your goals! As it says in the 'Root Verses of the Bardo': 'Alas! At this time when the Bardo of Existence dawns upon me, holding single-pointed devotion in my mind, I will diligently continue the thread of positive actions.' It is also said, 'Whichever being keeps the Buddha in mind, the Thubpa (Buddha) abides before them.' Therefore, in the sky before you, visualize your root guru, whose essence is the guru, but whose form is the Bhagavan, the Perfectly Enlightened Buddha Shakyamuni. Visualize the mandala with four Buddhas surrounding the inner circle, and thirty Buddhas surrounding the three outer layers. In the sky above, visualize the lamas of the Dzogchen lineage, as well as all the yidams, dakinis, dharma protectors, and guardians, like a dense gathering of rainbows. Before them, the deceased you should prostrate and make offerings. To help you, we, the master and disciples, as well as your relatives and friends, will also prostrate together. Guide your relatives to prostrate with loving-kindness. Fold your own palms and bow your head, thinking: 'The deceased should always prostrate to the guru! Prostrate to the Buddha!' etc. And recite the 'King of Mountains Sutra'. By prostrating to all these holy beings, may all sins and obscurations be purified. To all the supreme victors who are present now, who have passed away, and who are yet to come, I join my palms and draw near for refuge. Now, the deceased you, with a mind of repentance, imitate my words: 'The Thirty-Five Buddhas and so forth, in all the realms of the ten directions, all the Tathagatas, Arhats, Perfectly Enlightened Ones, may all those Buddhas, the Bhagavad, be mindful of me. From this life and from beginningless time in all the realms of samsara, all the sins that I have committed, either by myself or by instigating others...' --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
