For the wise, in the preparatory stage, when they become one with the mandala, they are invited to sit comfortably. Offering, inviting, abiding, binding, delighting, until they become one. As stated in the 'Two Examinations Tantra': 'All Buddhas residing in the sky, Their forms are fully placed in the heart.' This is the meaning. The seventh step is to bless as before. The eighth step is empowerment, as stated in the tantra: 'With mudras and mantras, urge well, Bestow manifest empowerment as appropriate.' Therefore, empowerment should be given to the disciple as appropriate. As stated in the Vajrapani Empowerment: 'Like the lord of the four continents, The wheel-turning king bestows empowerment, Likewise, with wondrous praises, Bestow empowerment with all auspiciousness.' That is to say, water empowerment can be real or an image in a mirror; similarly, head ornaments and so on can be done through binding or special devotion. The rituals are as described in their respective tantras, or by inviting the empowerment deity with the seed syllable (Tibetan: ས་བོན་, Sanskrit Devanagari: बीज, Sanskrit Romanization: bīja, Literal Chinese meaning: seed) in the heart, making offerings, praises, and prayers, and then performing the five water empowerments, etc., and the four vase empowerments, up to the head ornament empowerment headed by the family lord (Tibetan: རིགས་བདག་, Sanskrit Devanagari: कुलपिति, Sanskrit Romanization: kulapati, Literal Chinese meaning: family lord), all as usual. By bestowing empowerment in this way, the first five empowerments make the five aggregates (Tibetan: ཕུང་པོ, Sanskrit Devanagari: स्कन्ध, Sanskrit Romanization: skandha, Literal Chinese meaning: aggregate) and the five wisdoms (Tibetan: ཡེ་ཤེས, Sanskrit Devanagari: ज्ञान, Sanskrit Romanization: jñāna, Literal Chinese meaning: wisdom) one, and the latter four empowerments make body, speech, and mind the nature of wisdom beings (Tibetan: སེམས་དཔའ, Sanskrit Devanagari: सत्त्व, Sanskrit Romanization: sattva, Literal Chinese meaning: being). Therefore, the lineage from the guru (Tibetan: སློབ་དཔོན, Sanskrit Devanagari: आचार्य, Sanskrit Romanization: ācārya, Literal Chinese meaning: teacher) to the benefactor (Tibetan: སྦྱིན་པོ, Sanskrit Devanagari: दानपति, Sanskrit Romanization: dānapati, Literal Chinese meaning: giver) is purified, and results are quickly obtained, which is also related to the reasons mentioned earlier. The ninth step is offering and praise. After the empowerment, the disciple should make offerings as described in the scriptures, which is a continuation of the empowerment. Offerings should be made with the ten directions and endless realms, and praise should be made with beings of the five lineages (Tibetan: རྒྱུད, Sanskrit Devanagari: गोत्र, Sanskrit Romanization: gotra, Literal Chinese meaning: lineage), etc. The tenth step is the opening of the eyes, etc., as stated in the tantra: 'With a golden needle of golden nature, Open the eyes.' Here, the first sense base (Tibetan: སྐྱེ་མཆེད, Sanskrit Devanagari: आयतन, Sanskrit Romanization: āyatana, Literal Chinese meaning: base) is mentioned, symbolizing that the ears, etc., should also be opened. This is explained in detail in qualified scriptures such as the Third Stage. Making the support (Tibetan: རྟེན, Sanskrit Devanagari: आश्रय, Sanskrit Romanization: āśraya, Literal Chinese meaning: support) co-exist with the wisdom deity (Tibetan: ཡེ་ཤེས་ཀྱི་ལྷ, Sanskrit Devanagari: ज्ञानदेव, Sanskrit Romanization: jñānadeva, Literal Chinese meaning: wisdom deity) for an eon also starts from these sense bases. Because all the objects of enjoyment of wisdom must be enjoyed equally. What is used to open the eyes? According to the size of the image, etc., and the wishes of the benefactor, use a golden needle of six fingers or higher, as well as ear picks, root thorns, face needles, toothpicks, etc. How to open the eyes? 'Like the king who is an ophthalmologist,' etc., open the eyes in sequence. If it is scriptures, stupas, etc., how should it be done? Because the transformation of the support has not been completed here, it is easier. Otherwise, for the deities of scriptures, etc... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As it is said, 'Meditate on its image by looking at a mirror.' Step three: Even if it is a scripture, it should be converted into letters as before, and consecration and offerings should also be performed. As mentioned before, if it is like transforming the support, since it is a wisdom body, it seems that it does not need to be in the form of a place of birth. For example, when offering to stupas and scriptures, they must also have the image of a face and limbs, which is the same as this. However, in the Prajñā Sutra, 'Stupas and scriptures, etc., because they do not have roots and places of birth, do not need consecration, etc.,' thus distinguishing them separately, but still take the former as the standard. The eleventh step is to transform the support: In the third step, it says, 'With their respective mantras and mudras, contemplate transforming the mandala deity into it.' It means that the master touches the three places of the support with the vajra in his hand, and recites his own mantra three times, and then transforms it. For example, transforming the statue of Shakyamuni Buddha into the statue of Vairochana Buddha, after reciting the three sentences of 'Muni,' recite: 'Transformed into the Bhagavan auspicious Vairochana Buddha, from which emanates Shakyamuni Buddha with a golden color, possessing excellent marks and adornments, and blazing light, with both hands in the earth-touching mudra and the meditation mudra, possessing the appearance of a supreme incarnation, complete with all qualities, and possessing divine power.' In some treatises, after offering the prayer for steadfastness, there is no evidence to suggest that the transformation of the support must be performed, and it also seems unreasonable. The twelfth is offering: For example, when a king ascends the throne, ministers and vassals offer valuable gifts to express congratulations or respect, and this is the same here. For the newly accomplished wisdom deity, offering joyful offerings as a gift of celebration is the meaning of offering. As the Horse King Game Sutra says: 'After auspicious offering and empowerment, the body image will be the object of offering.' According to the blessing and auspicious superposition of the Yiji Sutra and the tradition of the former generations in Tibet, offering with extensive offerings and praises, offering with the necessary items, offering with fire offerings or tsampa food, and offering with blessed mantras and auspiciousness. The first is: offering and praising according to the ritual of the blessed deity. The second is: offering with the necessary items. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
