The oil for butter lamps should be freshly pressed rapeseed oil or sesame oil, placed in precious gold or silver vessels, or at least in clean and pure containers made of copper, iron, or pottery. The oil should be clear and bright, capable of dispelling darkness. If that is not possible, burning pine wood or similar materials is also acceptable. Bathing water (དྲི་ཆབ) is used to cool the body and eliminate odors in hot places. The Kalachakra Tantra states that it should be prepared according to the proper method. Buton Rinchen Drub explains the method as follows: Use any vessel made of gold, silver, conch shell, or clam. Bind cardamom, rock salt, white sandalwood, valerian root, and sandalwood, two portions each, into bundles. Place them in eight bre (a unit of volume) of clean water and boil until only three-quarters of the water remains. The remaining liquid becomes fragrant water. If this is not possible, you can mix the five fragrances used in making vases, or camphor, sandalwood, nutmeg, saffron, Ceylon, and other fragrant medicines with clean water. As for the ingredients for food offerings (Tibetan: ཞལ་ཟས།, Sanskrit: नैवेद्य, Roman transliteration: Naivedya, literal meaning: food), the Gongdu Sutra states: 'The outer white three: butter, milk, and yogurt; and the sweet three: honey, sugar, various flowers, and molasses.' The materials for Torma (Tibetan: གཏོར་མ།, Sanskrit: बलि, Roman transliteration: Bali, literal meaning: offering) must be completely pure, of the highest quality, nutritious, and potent. They should not be bound by stinginess, obstacles, impurity, or other factors, and should be offered generously and without attachment. Alternatively, clean rice or various delicacies without meat, alcohol, garlic, onions, or other impure substances can be used to prepare food offerings (Tibetan: ཞལ་ཟས།, Sanskrit: नैवेद्य, Roman transliteration: Naivedya, literal meaning: food). As the scriptures say, according to one's ability, mix clean flour with milk and sugar, prepare food that one would enjoy oneself, and offer it with the same pure intention. Some Nyingma practitioners smear round food offerings (Tibetan: ཞལ་ཟས།, Sanskrit: नैवेद्य, Roman transliteration: Naivedya, literal meaning: food) with butter, etc. This incorrect practice should never be imitated. Musical instruments include blowing, striking, and plucking types. However, some practitioners in the Kham region place instruments such as ting sha (small cymbals) among the offerings, which is a foolish practice. If the instruments are not blown or plucked, the offering of musical instruments is meaningless. Since anyone can strike instruments like ting sha, there is no point in displaying them without playing them when making musical offerings. The objects of offering are the wisdom deities, who have no discrimination between good and bad and no attachment to worldly pleasures, but this is for the sake of accumulating merit for oneself. Therefore, one should not use wealth obtained through improper means such as robbery or theft, nor should one use old or defiled items. When making large offerings such as a hundred offerings, one should not be stingy, thinking that there are too many offerings, nor should one do it out of contempt for others or a competitive spirit. Instead, one should offer with pure items and pure intentions to the best of one's ability. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

One should increase the offerings, and after the old offerings are removed, new offerings should be displayed. As stated in the 'Compendium of Intentions': 'To increase the great accumulation of merit, one should strive to increase abundant offerings. If conditions do not allow, one should still visualize as much as possible. If one has the ability but does not display offerings, one will be shamed by the gods. Even if one does not have the ability, one should strive to seek them, not being stingy, as this is the key to increasing merit. Offering pleases the guests, and one will attain accomplishments. For the wisdom deities, there is no distinction between large and small offerings, as this is for accumulating one's own merit.' Therefore, one should never engage in the bad practice of offering overly old flowers and displaying too much old food, which would be repulsive not only to the deities but also to humans. Next is about the fierce near offerings, according to the Anuttarayoga Tantra. Blood offerings mainly refer to the mixture of various bloods originating from the heart and body, with great blood as the primary component, dried into powder and then mixed with clean water. The base of poison water includes deadly poison, wolfsbane, belladonna, arisaema, etc. Grind whatever poisonous substances can be collected into powder and mix with water. The flowers of the five senses, in a skull cup, place the heart, tongue, ears, eyes, and nose according to the ritual, as these are the flowers of the five senses. The incense of great fat can be made by directly burning ordinary animal fat or human fat, or by mixing black agarwood, benzoin, musk, deadly poison, white mustard, etc., to make incense pellets or powder. The lamp of great tallow is made from melted animal fat or large pieces of meat fat, symbolically it can be made by mixing animal fat and human fat. The bile perfume, real bezoar is difficult to find, but similar substances can be used as a base, with large bile and bear bile as the main components, collecting as many types of bile as possible, grinding them into powder and mixing with water. The food of great meat is made from meat and blood, or just ordinary red triangular tormas decorated with human heads, hands, and feet, and smeared with blood or red paint. The containers for these offerings should preferably be triangular vessels made of skull cups or iron. Second, the inner offerings. Second, regarding the inner offerings, there are two types: visualized and actual displays. First, the visualized offerings include the five desirable qualities of form, sound, smell, taste, and touch. Some terma texts also mention displaying symbolic items. If so, then form corresponds to a mirror with a stand, sound corresponds to cymbals, smell corresponds to incense and sachets of mixed fragrances, taste corresponds to various clean foods or offerings, and touch corresponds to silk, etc. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
