It is said in the 'Accomplishment Gathering,' which is the fundamental tantra for obtaining the accomplishments of all knowledge: 'Regard the king as the guru, consider yourself humble as a servant, and take the essence of mantra accomplishment as the supreme and unsurpassed jewel.' It is said that through this self-path, those with sharp faculties can attain Bodhi within seven lifetimes, or no matter how long it takes, at most after eight great kalpas. Furthermore, in the Kriya Tantra, it can be divided into six families. Among them, there are three main families: the Tathagata family, the Padma family, and the Vajra family. There are three minor families: the Norcan family (wealthy), the Ngase Ten family (or the vast family), and the Jigtenpa family (worldly). Within the Tathagata family, there are eight: the family head, the Chakravartin of the family head, the family mother, the family crown, the family wrathful deities (male and female), the family messenger (female), the family Bodhisattva, and the family worldly deity. What is referred to here is the tantra of the family head, namely 'Thubpa Damtsig Sum Kod' (The Three Samayas of the Buddha), and the tantra of the family head, namely Manjushri (Jampal Yang). What is referred to here as 'knowledge empowerment,' 'subsequent permission,' or 'entering the mandala and bestowing initiation,' are all things that should be done now. Since the duties that the Vajra master should fulfill have been completed without omission, now it is your turn, in the presence of the venerable one who is no different from the guru and the yidam, in order to obtain knowledge empowerment, subsequent permission, entering the mandala, or initiation, please offer the mandala. These translation methods also apply to the following text. Furthermore, in terms of the Kriya Tantra Padma family, here the Padma family has five: the family head, the family head, the family mother, the family wrathful deities (male and female), and the family attendants (male and female). What is referred to here is the tantra of the family head, namely 'Tse dang Yeshe Paktume Pa' (Amitayus and Amitajñana), or the tantra of the family head, namely Holy Avalokiteshvara (Phakpa Chenrezik). Knowledge empowerment and subsequent permission, etc., are the same as before. Furthermore, in terms of the Vajra family, here the Vajra family has five: the family head, the family head, the family mother, the family wrathful deities (male and female), and the family messengers (male and female). What is referred to here is the tantra of the family head, namely Akshobhya (Mitrukpa), or the tantra of the family head, namely Vajrapani (Chakna Dorje) or Vajravidarana (Dorje Nampa Jompa). --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As before, the land purification and other rituals are performed. By these examples, one can understand and apply them to other categories of Kriya Tantra. The empowerment and subsequent permission of Ubhaya Tantra (both tantras) or Carya Tantra: If it is like the empowerment and subsequent permission of Ubhaya Tantra or Carya Tantra, after 'Here it is appropriate,' deriving from the word 'Upaya,' it is the practice of both tantras. As the 'Self-Arisen Tantra' says: 'The view is the view of Yoga, the practice is the practice of Kriya. Therefore, it is called Ubhaya Tantra.' The 'Condensed Meaning of Manifest Enlightenment' says: 'This tantra is the Carya Tantra because it practices both the actions of body and speech, and Samadhi.' Its essence is: view, meditation, Yoga, and practice are similar to Kriya, becoming a means to achieve Siddhi. As the 'Garland of Views' says: 'Achievement is obtained from the combination of both (Shamatha and Vipassana).’ How to practice it? As the 'Essence of Wisdom' says: 'Vajra and bell, as their names imply, are very clear in Carya Tantra.' Above the water crown, the hand symbols of Vajra and bell, and the name empowerment are conferred, making it a suitable vessel. The practice is mostly similar to Kriya, but it is in accordance with the view, meditation, and Yoga. Therefore, during practice, the self-Samaya being and the deity-Jnana being are regarded as brothers or friends, without good or bad, and Siddhi is obtained through offerings, praises, recitations, and so on. As the 'Stages of Views' says: 'The intention of Ubhaya Tantra is that the view and practice are consistent above and below.' What is consistent with Yoga is that regarding the Yoga-Samaya being and the Jnana being as friends is common with Carya Tantra, while making the Samaya being and the Jnana being inseparable is its uncommon aspect. Here, it refers to the former. As the 'Self-Arisen Tantra' says: 'The deity and the yogi themselves should also be regarded as brothers and friends.' This is said when explaining the intention of Yoga. By striving in this way, one can obtain the result in five lifetimes at the quickest, or in one or three kalpas at the slowest. Carya Tantra can be divided into three categories: body, speech, and mind. Here, it refers to the body category, which is Vairochana's manifestation of enlightenment. And the subsequent permission of Arya Achala (immovable) and so on. The mind category refers to Vajrapani and so on. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
