Thus, all the Buddhas of the ten directions transform into the assembly of Mahākāla, and by the power of their commitment, they come forth and slay all enemies who harm the Buddha's teachings, visualizing them coming forth in the sky before you. The main deity is crowned by the Five Families. The consort is crowned by the Five Consorts. Avalokiteśvara is crowned by Amitābha (Infinite Light). The supreme body is crowned by Yamāntaka (the Destroyer of Yama). The supreme speech is crowned by Hayagrīva (Horse-Necked One). The supreme mind is crowned by Vajrapāṇi (Vajra-Handed One). Then, being empowered as the leader of all gods and humans, contemplate gathering all the power of the mundane and supramundane, and being filled with radiance. Third is prostration: From your own heart, divide wisdom into two parts, and from one part emanate countless offering goddesses. For the purpose of protecting the Buddha's teachings, slaying enemies and obstacles, and bestowing siddhis (spiritual powers) upon the yogi (practitioner), prostrate to the retinue, led by the divine army. Contemplate the retinue prostrating to Ganapati (Lord of Hosts) and retinue with reverence in body, speech, and mind, and say this: Hūṃ! Turning back the armies of the Asuras, Giving breath to the white armies of the gods, To Mahākāla (Great Black One) and retinue, I offer, praise, and prostrate. In your hand you hold the great curved knife that subdues demons, Blazing with glory like the fire of the eon's end! I rely on you as the eternal protector and power, Offering continuous offerings! I pray that you always protect and save! The mandala is beautiful and sacred, Flower garlands and jeweled parasols, Pure water, incense, lamps, and scented oils, Delicious food and celestial food, Ointments and clothing, Beautiful forms, melodious sounds, fragrant smells, Delicious tastes and soft touches, and so on, Please accept these various offerings!
