Generation Stage: Incidental Recitation Stage Common Generation Stage First, perform the preparations as described in the ritual. The main practice is based on the three samadhis, visualizing the mandala of the support and the supported. Focus single-pointedly on the clear appearance of the deity's form, inseparable from samaya and wisdom, the Great Seal (Mahamudra). Initially, focus your attention on the clear appearance of yourself as the sole principal deity (Vajravarahi). Once the mind is somewhat stable, starting from the space between the eyebrows, gradually and clearly visualize each part of the body. Similarly, focus on the details of the hand implements such as the curved knife (kartrika), skull cup (kapala), khatvanga, bone ornaments, dry skull crown, wet skull necklace, Vajravarahi's sow face, bodily posture, vocal tone, intention of the mind, flames of wisdom, lotus and sun seat, and other ornaments. For beginners, a well-defined painted image (thangka) should be set up in front, and it should be regarded as the actual deity. Direct the mind, eyes, and breath to a single point, like a spear. When a distinct clear appearance arises, dissolve the deity in front into yourself, visualize yourself as such a deity, and focus on it. Sometimes, clarify the appearance through verbal descriptions, and sometimes maintain it through single-pointed focus. Focus on the form of the principal deity, or even if you cannot fully do so, maintain a firm sense of pride, thinking that you are Vajravarahi herself. Occasionally, the appearance of your own body, speech, and mind as the three secrets of Vajravarahi is actually the qualities of the Dharmakaya of the Buddha in the ultimate sense, and in the relative sense, it appears as the Rupakaya with face and hands. After focusing on the principal deity, visualize each of the four classes of dakinis, heroes and heroines, action dakinis and samaya dakinis, and the supporting palace up to the mountain of fire, one by one. When the clear appearance arises, practice various ways of visualizing, such as from the outside to the inside, from the inside to the outside, coarse and fine, definite and indefinite. Eventually, train yourself to see all appearances as the mandala of the deity. Eliminate the faults of dullness and agitation, cut the bonds of laziness, and without being defiled by the confusion of conceptual thoughts, practice with single-pointed focus. Initially, the clear appearance of the support and the supported will arise instantaneously in the mind without confusion, and you will be able to maintain it for a long time. In the intermediate stage, as the breath and mind focus on the deity's form, you will see the deity's form of emptiness and form directly with your senses. Finally, as the breath and mind mature into the deity, sometimes even the coarse physical body will appear as the deity. In this way, when the three clear appearances reach their limit, you have succeeded. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
