From the heart of the deity, countless rays of light emanate. From the realm of self-nature and the great charnel ground of Ogmin (Highest Purity), all the assemblies of wisdom deities, in the form of the body mudra, speech mantra garland, and mind implements of the Great Glorious Vajrakumara (Vajra Youth), descend like a torrential rain, dissolving into your three doors, becoming inseparable from you. Visualize this. Burn gugul (fragrant resin) and other substances as offerings. With music and melodies, invoke the presence. At the end of the mantra, add 'Jñana Vajra Aveshaya Ah Ah' (Wisdom Vajra, enter! Ah Ah), and recite it forcefully. Visualize that the stream of blessings thus bestowed remains undiminished and steadfast until you attain enlightenment. Place a crossed vajra (thunderbolt) on the crown of the head and recite 'Tishtha Vajra' (Stay Vajra). Arrange a torma (ritual cake) or a mandala of hand gestures. For the fortunate ones connected by karma, in order to identify the yidam (personal deity) with whom they have a connection from previous lives, offer flowers to the mandala deities. Think that the flower previously given to you will fall upon the deity of the lineage with whom you have a connection from lifetime to lifetime, and then repeat after me and cast the flower: 'We, who are fortunate, whatever karma we have from previous lives, may the supreme yidam deity descend, and may my flower fall upon it.' Recite 'Puspe Pratichchha Hoh' (Flower, receive! Hoh), and then let them cast the flowers without hesitation. In the center is the wrathful deity who embodies all lineages. Similarly, understand through reason that the east is the Vajra family, the south is the Ratna (Jewel) family, the west is the Padma (Lotus) family, and the north is the Karma (Action) family. Generally speaking, if the remaining flowers fall on the main deity of the mandala, visualize that the flower is tied on the crown of the head like a diadem of empowerment. 'Hoh! From the blessings of offering the flower of awareness to the supreme deity with whom we have been connected since the beginning of time, may our own awareness be inseparable from the deity, and may we attain the siddhis (accomplishments) of body, speech, and mind.' Recite 'Puspe Grihna Imam Sattva Mahabala' (Flower, accept! This being of great power), and then place the flower back on the crown of the head. Request the opening of the eyes, and repeat after me: 'This blindness that obscures ignorance, with skillful means and the eye of wisdom, may you open it with compassion, and may you reveal the mandala before our eyes.' From the heart of the guru (teacher), a golden needle-like ray of wisdom light emanates. Visualize that the veil of ignorance is cleared away. With the golden needle, remove the face covering, and recite 'Hum! In order to see the mandala of the Great Glorious Vajrakumara (Vajra Youth) before our eyes, just as all the Buddhas of the past have done, so too shall we open the eyes.' Recite 'Chakshu Praveshaya Phat' (Eyes, enter! Phat), and then remove the face covering. The guru removes his hat and joins his palms together, facing the mandala. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
