用骨头或裹尸布驱除邪魔，在坛城边放置。内外供品丰盛，行一百次顶礼，念诵一百零八遍嘛呢，享用会供。之后，以马头金刚的傲慢诛杀。在坛城边绘制六道轮回的坛城，念诵每个道的名称。将亡者（tshe 'das，已故者）的种子字（sa bon，种子字）投入六道，观想其神识转为大悲观世音。向六能仁（thub pa drug，六尊佛）各顶礼一百零八次，念诵一百零八遍嘛呢。念诵：‘亡者某某（ming 'di zhes bya ba，名为...）从地狱道解脱，于大乐中成佛。’将此加于所有（六道众生）。然后，摧毁六道轮回的坛城，焚烧种子字。将六能仁和名牌放置在坛城边，之后施食。然后，如宝瓶灌顶般进行灌顶。之后，赞颂并念诵，将神识转移至大乐中，指示道路。焚烧名牌，制作擦擦（sa tstsha，小泥像），送回原处。然后，按照仪轨施放朵玛（gtor ma，食子），祈祷，收摄坛城，回向，发愿，为了生者进行续命灌顶，念诵吉祥偈，念诵一遍嘛呢。 如此，不是为了寻求食物，而是为了利益他人，生起慈悲心，众生如被水冲走，如乘船渡过，以这样的善行和功德利益一切众生。名为‘超度亡灵，拔出恶道之根’的章节是第十八品。萨玛雅，保密！ 嗡！若想修持大悲观世音焚烧遗体，则在干净的地上堆积木柴，开启坛城，陈设供品和朵玛。首先为遗体驱除邪魔，加持供品，观想火坑为坛城。然后用宝瓶水沐浴遗体，念诵：‘愿亡者身语意三门的一切罪障平息净化，神识于大悲观世音心中成佛！’如此念诵，进行灌顶，佩戴饰品，穿上衣服，放入火中。期间，收集焚烧物，修持生起次第，以音乐迎请，点燃火焰并使其均匀燃烧。然后，用嗡啊吽（oṃ āḥ hūṃ，唵 阿 吽，身语意）三字加持供品、朵玛、酥油、食物和谷物，如仪轨般进行，观想供养给大悲观世音的诸佛菩萨。倾倒酥油并供养，念诵：嗡啊吽（oṃ āḥ hūṃ，唵 阿 吽，身语意），嗡嘛呢呗美吽舍（oṃ maṇi padme hūṃ hrīḥ，唵 嘛呢 呗 美 吽 舍，莲花生），亡者某某（ming 'di zhes bya ba，名为...）已逝世并更换身体，从无始轮回以来所积累的身语意三门...

Remove obstacles with bones or burial cloths, and place them near the mandala. Make abundant outer and inner offerings, perform a hundred prostrations, recite one hundred and eight 'mani' mantras, and enjoy the tsok (gathering feast). Afterward, with the pride of Hayagriva (rta mgrin, Horse Neck), perform wrathful slaying. Draw a mandala of the six realms near the mandala, and recite each name. Cast the seed syllables (sa bon, seed) of the deceased (gshin po tshe 'das, dead person) into the six realms, and contemplate their consciousness transforming into Great Compassionate Avalokiteshvara. Pay homage to the six Thubpas (thub pa drug, six Buddhas) one hundred and eight times each, and recite one hundred and eight 'mani' mantras. Recite: 'May the deceased, named so-and-so (ming 'di zhes bya ba, named...), be liberated from the hell realm and attain Buddhahood in great bliss.' Apply this to all (six realms beings). Then, destroy the mandala of the six realms, and burn the seed syllables. Place the six Thubpas and name plaques near the mandala, and afterward, offer food. Then, bestow empowerment as in the vase empowerment. Then, offer praise and chant, transfer the consciousness to great bliss, and show the path. Burn the name plaque, create a tsa-tsa (sā tstsha, small clay image), and return it to its place. Then, offer the torma (gtor ma, offering cake) according to the ritual, pray, gather the mandala, dedicate the merit, make aspirations, and for the sake of the living, perform a life-extending empowerment, recite auspicious verses, and recite one round of 'mani' mantras. Thus, not seeking food, but for the benefit of others, cultivate loving-kindness and compassion. May all beings, like those carried away by water, be ferried across by a boat, and may all be done for the benefit of all through such virtue and merit. This is the eighteenth chapter, called 'Liberating the Deceased and Uprooting the Root of the Lower Realms.' Samaya, sealed! Oṃ! If you wish to cremate the corpse while contemplating Great Compassionate Avalokiteshvara, then pile up wood on clean ground, open the mandala, and arrange the offerings and tormas. First, remove obstacles from the corpse, bless the offering substances, and contemplate the fire pit as a mandala. Then, bathe the corpse with vase water, reciting: 'May all the sins and obscurations of the body, speech, and mind of the deceased be pacified and purified, and may their consciousness attain Buddhahood in the heart of Great Compassionate Avalokiteshvara!' Recite this, bestow empowerment, adorn with ornaments, clothe it, and place it in the pyre. In the meantime, gather the cremation substances, cultivate the generation stage, invite with music, and ignite the fire evenly. Then, bless the offerings, tormas, butter, food, and grains with Oṃ Āḥ Hūṃ (oṃ āḥ hūṃ, ॐ आः हूँ, oṃ āḥ hūṃ, Body Speech Mind), as in the ritual, and contemplate offering them to the deities of Great Compassionate Avalokiteshvara. Offer by pouring butter, reciting: Oṃ Āḥ Hūṃ (oṃ āḥ hūṃ, ॐ आः हूँ, oṃ āḥ hūṃ, Body Speech Mind), Oṃ Maṇi Padme Hūṃ Hrīḥ (oṃ maṇi padme hūṃ hrīḥ, ॐ मणि पद्मे हूँ ह्रीः, oṃ maṇi padme hūṃ hrīḥ, Hail to the Jewel in the Lotus), the deceased, named so-and-so (ming 'di zhes bya ba, named...), has passed away and changed bodies, and from beginningless samsara has accumulated through body, speech, and mind... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
