Then, in order to generate the supreme and perfectly complete Bodhicitta (བྱང་ཆུབ་ཀྱི་སེམས།,bodhicitta,菩提心,the mind of enlightenment), with a stream of higher intention, and in order to be born in that Buddha-field, properly generate the mind, accumulate roots of virtue, and dedicate them. As it is said, taking the vow of Bodhicitta is definitely the main cause for purifying the Buddha-field, so join your palms and with one-pointed aspiration, recite: 'Please, Bhagavan (བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས།,bhagavan,薄伽梵,世尊), Tathagata (དེ་བཞིན་གཤེགས་པ།,tathāgata,如来), Arhat (དགྲ་བཅོམ་པ།,arhat,阿罗汉), perfectly and completely enlightened Buddha, Protector Amitabha (འོད་དཔག་ཏུ་མེད་པ།,amitābha,阿弥陀佛,无量光) and all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas of the ten directions, be mindful of me.' Thus, precede with the request: 'I take refuge in the Buddha, the Dharma, and the Sangha until enlightenment. By the merit of my generosity and other virtues, may I attain Buddhahood for the benefit of beings.' May all beings be completely liberated from birth, aging, sickness, and death. I shall practice generosity, discipline, morality, patience, diligence, meditation, concentration, and supreme wisdom. I shall take up these practices and become a Buddha to protect all sentient beings. I shall seek the supreme and unequaled pure Buddha-field, and before countless hundreds of thousands of Buddhas, as infinite as the sands of the Ganges, I shall make offerings to all those protectors. In worlds equal to the grains of sand in the Ganges, and even more infinite realms, I shall emit light everywhere, initiating such strength of diligence. I shall purify the supreme and foremost field, adorning it in this kalpa, attaining the incomparable bliss of Nirvana, and purifying it with unsurpassed practices. When I am about to die, may all obscurations be purified and removed, and having seen the manifest Amitabha, may I be reborn in the Sukhavati (བདེ་བ་ཅན།,sukhāvatī,极乐,the land of bliss) realm. Having gone there, may all these aspirations be completely fulfilled, may all be completely filled, and as long as the world exists, may I benefit all sentient beings. In that auspicious and joyful mandala of the Victorious Ones, may I be born from an extremely beautiful and supreme lotus, and may I receive the prophecy directly from the Victorious Amitabha. Having received the prophecy there, with the power of my mind, through hundreds of thousands of millions of emanations, in the ten directions, may I greatly benefit sentient beings.' Thus, vow to practice the conduct of a Bodhisattva. From this time forward... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

'Having fruit, and having obtained a good human existence, today I am born into the Buddha's lineage, and now I have become a Buddha's son. From now on, whatever I do, I will do in accordance with my lineage, and for this flawless monastic lineage, I will not let it become defiled.' Today, in front of all the saviors, I invite beings and the Sugata (Sugata, the Well-Gone One) himself, and the happiness in between, as guests. May the gods and asuras and others rejoice. May the Bodhicitta (Bodhicitta, the mind of enlightenment) be precious, may those who have not generated it generate it, may those who have generated it not decline, and may it increase more and more. May I not be separated from the Bodhicitta, may I be devoted to the Bodhisattva's conduct, may I be embraced by the Buddhas, and may I abandon the deeds of demons. May the Bodhisattvas accomplish the benefit of beings that they have in mind. May whatever the Protector has in mind, may beings attain it. May all beings have happiness, may all the lower realms always be empty. May the aspirations of all the Bodhisattvas who dwell on the ground be fulfilled. Thus pray. Then, if desired, one can pray for what is desired: 'Bhagavan, Tathagata, Arhat, Samyaksambuddha, Protector Amitabha (Amitabha, Immeasurable Light) and all your retinue, please consider me. You have the wisdom that knows all, the compassionate heart of love, the altruistic actions that accomplish deeds, and the inconceivable power of protection. In general, may the Buddha's teachings flourish and spread, may the virtuous ones who uphold the teachings have long lives, may the wishes of their hearts be perfectly fulfilled, and may the ten practices of the Sangha increase and spread more and more. Through these powers and abilities, may beings obtain perfect happiness, and in particular, may I and all limitless beings purify the two obscurations, perfect the two accumulations, be born in the heart of a lotus in the pure land of Sukhavati (Sukhavati, Blissful Land), and quickly attain perfect enlightenment, please bless me.' Thus say. The second part is: First, in order to perform the altruistic activity of recitation, by the truth of the Three Jewels, and by the power and blessings of the Tathagatas and all their retinue, and by the pure and inconceivable power of the Dharmadhatu (Dharmadhatu, the realm of phenomena), and the actions of the body, speech, and mind of the noble ones are without impurity. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
